Advantages: A truly great CD Disadvantages: None whatsoever!
...of their homes, they had to move down here to the Louisiana swamps, and that it where we now have to live. Ain't life grand?!"
It is as if they have acknowledged that they had a raw deal, but have taken that raw deal by the throat and got something positive out of their collective history.
There are 22 tracks on this CD, and the names of the musicians show the fascinating history of the Cajun people. Nathan Abshire, the Balfa Brothers, Austin Pitre, Joe Bonsall, Aldus Roger, Bessyl Duhon, PhilMenard, Don Montoucet, Boozoo Chavis, Camey Doucet, Wayne Toups, the Ardoin Brothers, Ronnie Fruge, Sheryl Cormier. Yes, all of those name are accidental corruptions of good old French surnames, changed over the years by indolent or semi-literate government officials
There are two distinct threads to Cajun music and both of these are well...

Advantages: First time for mother and daughter to sing together on cd Disadvantages: none
...This album is a curio in the best sense of the word. Both Chris and Kellie While are famous for other collaborations; Chris' partnership with Julie Matthews and daughter Kellie for fronting the Albion Band (in succession to Chris and Julie), E2K, and most latterly as a promising singer/songwriter.
This album doesn't represent the high water mark in either woman's career but it does afford the listener a chance to hear 'blood sing'. There is a symbiosis at work here and certain tracks such as Broken Things, Van Diemen's Land, Empty Hearts, and a song first aired on Kellie's debut album Tenacious, In My Room are compellingly effective.
Aficionados of Chris and Kellie While will certainly want to add this album to their collection and it is a welcome reminder of their 2003 tour. Newcomers might be best advised to consider...

Advantages: Easy listening guitar tracks, No real fillers, Martins Voice, unlisted track Disadvantages: Bit short - Not enough tracks
...Simply a must have for any self respecting indie fan. However it's a great buy for anyone who likes light guitar music. Coldplay have proved consistently in last few months that they are one of Britain's best new bands. The album is oozing with quality and Chris Martin has quickly gained the reputation of one of the best voices in the business. The album is excellent to listen to in any mood, especially a depressed one.
Summing up the album, it's collection of four or so minute songs are kept together with martin's fantastic vocals and will champion's rhythmic and exciting drum beats.
There is only really one filler, the melodic but really pointless title track "parachutes" because it only lasts about 45 seconds. Best tracks include "Shiver", "spies", "yellow", "trouble" and "High speed"....
