Advantages: Wonderful voice; Some great songs; beautiful lady Disadvantages: None, if you like the music.
...Sissel? Who, you ask? I'm not surprised if you have not heard of her. For some reason this young lady, who has been singing professionally around the world for years, seems to be virtually unheard of in this country.
I first came across the album while listening to a folk music programme on local radio.... no don't go away, she's not a folk singer. The thing is, the presenter - himself a nationally known performer - was so taken with her music that he couldn't resist playing it. The track was called "Weightless" and its immediate impact was to make me immediately want to hear more. After weeks trawling around the local record shops I managed to emerge triumphant, holding a copy of "All good things" aloft. I was not disappointed.
If you like your pop music to be gentle you'll like Sissel. She embraces a number of different genres...

Advantages: Great Live Disadvantages: Not sure if the 2 CD set is still available
...This album was recorded on the Anoraknophobia tour. If you were a Marillion fan in the Fish era but lost interest when he left then I suggest buying this one.
Since Steve Hogarth joined, the music has changed but is still fundamently Marillion, long, intricate songs that get better the more you listen to them. Having said that, the odd rockier short song is thrown in from time to time.
I was lucky enough to get hold of the 2 CD version which was only available from marillion.com. It is excellent.
A music industry quote "the music industries bestkeptsecret". If you were a fan of old, you will not be disappointed.
Marillion live are simply brilliant. This Cd captures the brilliance. The 2cd vesion is even better....

Advantages: maybe their best album yet Disadvantages: the artwork on the front of cd
...I had been witing on this album coming out for sometime, but did not think that it might be as good as their past albums.
"the distance to here" is lives' fourth album. The other three being: Secret Samadhi,Mental Jewelry and Throwing Copper.
The album starts with the best single,"the dolphins cry" This starts of as a slow ballad then all of a sudden they speed things up and launch into a rock song."The dolphins cry" is one of the best songs i have heard in a long time. This song itself is worth buying the album for.
After the first song, things slow down a bit. After you have played the album a few times you might start to tire of hearing the songs over and over again.
It seems to be one of those albums that hits you first time you hear it, then you loose interest in it, but come back to it after a few weeks.
