.... ~~~~~~~~~~ “So here I am, it's in my hands And I'll savor every moment of this So here I am, alive at last And I'll savor every moment of this…” ~~~~~~~~~~ With McCracken as chief songwriter, it ensures that the band have their input in their music, as opposed to singing someone else’s creations, something I can never understand about some bands. Far from experienced campaigners, the band seemingly already have all the hallmarks of the ‘next big thing’ - they have the ability, the resources and most importantly, the talent to make it in the jam packed world that is ‘modern rock’. Lead single ‘The Taste Of Ink’ shows the band at their raucous best, hitting the notes and delivering 3 minutes of heart stopping volume, with one mother of a chorus to accompany it. They are another of the sea of bands that have the knack of delivering the most... Read review

The Used - Lies for the Liars album review...
Review of Lies For The Liars [PA] - Used (The) by MFrancis1987

Advantages: Some great tracks which fans of The Used will enjoy.
Disadvantages: The album lacks consistency at times.

...The Used's third studio album, "Lies For The Liars", was released on 22 May 2007 through Reprise Records. It does not contain as much screaming from lead singer Bert McCracken as in previous efforts, but still contains many songs which have typified the bands sound for the past few years. The album opens with "The Ripper", which is a fast paced track, but does not really compare to their previous album openers. The second track, "Pretty Handsome Awkward" is one of my personal favourites on the album, as it starts off with a great guitar riff which is maintained throughout the track, accompanied by a very catchy chorus. "The Bird and the Worm" is the next track, and is also the first single to be released from the album. It is a medium paced track with a solid chorus which is a worthy lead single, which may be compared slightly... Read review

The Used! Definately worth buying!
Review of In Love And Death (Parental Advisory) [PA] - Used (The) by adam56

Advantages: Awesome lyrics provided by the one and only bert mccracken
Disadvantages: one or two songs that arent as good

...The Used Are: Bert McCracken - vocals Jeph Howard - bass Branden Steineckert - drums/ vocals Quinn Allman - guitar/ vocals Background Information: The Used frontman Bert McCracken endured a public split from Kelly Osbourne, which has clearly caused him much distress. Also, McCracken's preparations for his band's second album were interrupted by the deaths of two friends and his pet Chihuahua. He can confide in himself though that his second album, IN LOVE AND DEATH, has reached the US top 10. The melodic nu metal they call "screamo" is tailored to fill arenas with people of similar tastes. Songs of suicide, and sadness , full of these emo tendancies. And so the formula occurs, screaming+emo=screamo! After their previous album, which included many good songs such as the taste of ink, poetic tragedy, blue and yellow... Read review
