..., it speaks about lack of heart in English settlers in Australia.Yet, if you know Nick Cave’s music, which ranks as ghotic alternative rock, and the soundtrack itself wouldn’t be surprise for you. FILM Film"The Proposition" Western conflicts the clash between civilizations. Set in Australia, in the late 19th century, the film starts with chaotic gunfire nearby a whorehouse. Then follows brutal scenes, especially brutal scene of Mickey (one of the gang brother) being whipped almost to death in front of righteous Christian bloodthirsty viewers. Entire film, director John Hillcoat fills with heat and dust that might be seen as a biblical motives. There is a contrast here, Stanley's pretty, devoted wife Martha (Emily Watson) blind and deaf when it comes to her husbands’ cruel nature, happily saved by the bell from being raped by bad Irish from... ...I quite like Texas (named after the Wim Wenders film Paris, Texas), I am not a massive fan though so their albums normally hold little attraction for me as I only really like the songs they have released as singles, so this is the ideal choice for me as they are all here without the filler tracks I would normally have to wade through, that is unless the three new previously unreleased tracks turn out to be rubbish! They (by they I mean Sharleen Spiteri and Johnny McElhone, who used to be in fellow Glaswegian band Altered Images) have now been around for 13 years which slightly surprises me. This album was released in November 2000, and until I was pushed into doing this review, I really had not listened to it much since I first bought it, but that is because I buy too many CD's and then never have the time to listen to them... Disadvantages: Only 21 songs, so some hits are missing

The biggest song of Dolly's career was written to signal the end of her seven year partnership with Porter Wagoner, and the masterful farewell was a No1 hit twice for Parton (the second time when it featured in her 1982 movie "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas") and once in a lengthy warbling version for Whitney Huston. Elvis was also interested in recording it, but his demands to also be assigned half the publishing rights for the privilege put Dolly off the idea, saving her millions of dollars in royalties. Gentle swaying guitar is fronted by pure wavering vocals. The original and by far the best. 5. Joshua (1970) - written by Parton.
