Today I want to write a review about Kenyan music. Kenyan music? Even if my love to my Ex wife is gone, the love to this nice country and the music is still there.
...The Safari Sound Band consists of 7 Kenyans, who plays together for modern 20 years. At the begins there just made music in the hotels from Mombasa but later there got famous even in Europe and this people give shows also in Germany. This CD is from 1996 and I bought it in the Ghettos of Nairobi for around one Euro. Is that way for you to far and dangerous you can buy it also in Internet. Hi Everybody! My name is Werner and I think very much people from ciao.uk don´t know me. It is now a very long time after my last review for this nice community. Almost five years I am without a sign of life. But today I am really back and is a lord what I have to tell you. Maybe some people can remember me. I was married to a Kenyan Woman for seven years. But very sad, this marriage break one time and now we are divorced. The dissolution was in September 2007, but our problems started long time before. At that time, it was around November 2005, I also was without a job and I got tired with my life. All that problems there to much for me. Alcohol was my best friend for a long time. But thank god, the day came and I woke up and see life must be continue or a die. I had luck and I found a new job in Austria and there I was the last three years. This was in short words my story from the last years.

Today I want to write a review about Kenyan music. Kenyan music? Even if my love to my Ex wife is gone, the love to this nice country and the music is still there.

The Safari Sound Band consists of 7 Kenyans, who plays together for modern 20 years. At the begins there just made music in the hotels from Mombasa but later there got famous even in Europe and this people give shows also in Germany. This CD is from 1996 and I bought it in the Ghettos of Nairobi for around one Euro. Is that way for you to far and dangerous you can buy it also in Internet. You just look in google und you get very much informations about the Safari Sound Band.

I think the cover is a good job from this people, because up is in blue writing the name of the Band to see and down in Red and White the title of the album. In the back you see some palms and a beach with ocean view. Just nice to dream about paradise *smile*

Just imagine, you sit inside a pub somewhere in Kenya. The Tusker Beer test very nice and everybody there is your friend. You have it ready in your body, that typical life enjoyment from the native people. It is inside you, you are far away from the grey Europe and you just enjoy it. That life enjoyment and that song let you swing your dancing leg. You dance with people and you don´t know their names. You sing the refrain from a song witch you can not understand. You just dance, you just make friends, you are just happy. Just for this is that song.

2. Pole, Pole

Just keep it up. You danced yourself inside the heart from the Kenyans and you continue like that. Forget the cold Europe, forget everything around you. You are in Kenya and you dance the soul out of your body. This song is just like the first one, just fun and just keep on dancing.

3. Nakupenda Wewe

You are ready fall in love with Kenya and you never want go home. However this song is not so good for dancing. But you can continue with dreaming. With this song I start with my dreams and I wish I could fly now. Fly back to my dream, back to my friends. This song let me dream and I remember my nice time in this nice country.

Here, too I continue with dreaming and I enjoy my tusker Beer with my friends. A nice sound witch let me love my country.

5. Coconut

You drink with your new friends the brotherhood and now you can continue with dancing. The night is young, the beer is smooth and the song is a dancing song. So just swing it, your dancing leg and show the Kenyans you enjoyment.

6. Kenya Safari

Sadly I made never a safari. This sound with the bushdrums and the long “Keeenyyyaaa” is just a great and romantic song and just a perfect declaration of love on this country. What a nice sound!

7. Pole Musa

What I can say? I am ready tired from dancing but a break is very far. So just enjoy your time in the pub in Kenya and continue with happiness. Because even this sound go inside your blood very fast.

8. Mombasa

This is a very romantic song. A great song for a night with your darling. You play this song with a candle light and listen to it arm in arm. A very fascinating and romantic song. Just be happy your darling is with you and together you dream your dreams of a happy and easy life.

9. Lala Salama

Sadly, the romantic time ends very fast but now it come again a dancing song. Don´t be tired, just dance. Drink a belt of your tusker beer and the tiredness run a way very fast. Dance! Dance! Dance!

Welcome in Kenya! Hospitality is very big written in Kenya. You are welcome anytime and anywhere. Just visit our country and enjoy your life. This is what the song want to tell me.

My opinion

Yes, I know it is long time ago when I was in Nairobi. But sometimes when I am in the correct mood I like to listen to this music. I like to remember my friend and I dream from my nice time in this nice country. This music make me happy and sad the same time. Sad only, because of the bad experience in my marriage. We had the dream together for a long time. But it finished long time ago. But the love to this music and the country will be forever. When I listen to this music I also look in my photo album and remember everything. How I bought this CD in the ghettos of Nairobi, How I had the crazy experience with the corrupt police, how much fun I had in the airport from Mombasa, how big was my love to my Ex Wife. How I made friends in the nights from Nairobi.

Yes, everything I like to remember. It is all a part from my life. But life continues. I know, but sometimes is good to remember. To Remember a very happy time in my life. And all this memorial give me back this music. Happiness witch I can not find here in Europe. Just happiness is what give me this music.
