Best Of And Live, The (30th Anniversary) - Pretenders (The)

Advantages: Contains a vast diversity of music from David Coverdale's post Deep Purple carrier
Disadvantages: Nothing, unless you hate Whitesnake (and if you did you wouldn't be reading this)

...Whitesnakes 30th Anniversary Collection appears to be a glorified greatest hit album. However it's more than this. Its 52 tracks contain live tracks, the original version of Here I Go Again, songs from David Coverdale's (DC's) album with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and of course songs from DC's solo work. The three CD's cover the carrier of DC after he left Deep Purple. The first disc with tracks like Ready An' Willing and Fool For Your Loving (live) brings Whitesnakes blues element through to the listener beautifully. I would say the first disc is best of Whitesnakes blues. The second CD contains the Coverdale Page songs as well as more live songs and a collection of Whitesnake hits. Advantages: Lots of tracks and catchy chorus's
Disadvantages: a few 80's tunes

...Good old bond is known for its theme tunes, and this whole CD is dedicated to them. with the theme tunes from all the films (except 'The World Is Not Enough') it will keep you going for months. From Dr. No To Live and Let Die, from Goldfinger to Goldeneye. They are all great theme tunes, espcially with Shirley Bassey Powerful voice on Goldfinger, it will have you singing along in no time. Usually I don't like 80's songs but the 80's songs on this are actually good. So this Soundtrack CD is the one to buy.... Read review

Advantages: Every number is memorable.
Disadvantages: none

...There's no other film series in the history of cinema that has as much consistently good music and particularly title themes/songs as Bond. If you listen to this compilation you won't get bored for a second, every ones a winner, from Dame Shirley singing Goldfinger like theres no tomorrow to McCartney's thumpingly good Live & Let Die - (one of his best post Beatles numbers!). We also have the sheer delights of Satchmo singing for me the most beautiful Bond song - We Have all the Time in the World, from Her Majesty's Secret Service and Carly Simons excellent rendition of Marvin Hamlisch's Nobody Does it Better (Spy who Loved Me). But for me what stands out about this record is just how brilliant John Barry is as a tunesmith (he wrote most of the stuff on here) and I have to say with little exception the music has gone seriously...
