...content If youv'e never heard of this guy this is your best place to start, this album showcases some of the texas tone masters greatest licks and solos as well as various 'bonus' live tracks. This album is ideal especially for the aspiring guitarist who wants inspiration and material to learn from. 'Lenny' is probably the most memorable track from the album, its a quite mind blowing instrumental that you'll listen to over and over. Lyrics this is not the greatest album to listen to for vocal content, as with a lot of blues artists all the songs are about one thing (bloke thats lost his wife etc..) Cover / Inlay Design and Content The thing i like about srv is there is always loads of album notes with pictures pictures, biogs etc. Good to read while listening.... Read review

Advantages: A good mixture of the best old and new dance classics

...This is an excellent selection of the best club tunes from the 90's till about two years ago. This compilation will definately get you in mood for a night out and bring back all those memories either from school, collage or the old clubbing days. This album will get anyone bopping in their chair and singing away. It has some of the best old school tunes and some of the best club hits and if you like club/dance music you will absolutely love this album. For any one who hasn't heard of the songs on this cd before, you will not stop playing the cd once you've heard this selection. If you like the club classics you have to get 'The Best Club Anthums Classics.'... Read review

...This is a good and cheap selection of some of the greatest blues musicians ever. The collection opens predictably with a muddy waters track (rollin’ stone) although probably not his best and then there appears the great elmore james performance on slide guitar in ‘dust my broom’ – a fantastically modern style of blues for the time. The j l hooker song is not ‘boom, boom’ thank god and the howlin’ wolf track ‘smokestack lightning’ features as track 9, this is a great song and I think once a budweiser advert song. There is a beautifully rough recording of memphis slim’s ‘guess I’m a fool’ towards the end which is for me the pick of the tracks. This is a solid album, nothing too new, but touches all the bases and is successful.... Read review
