Advantages: New unseen footage........... Disadvantages: CD has the usual Bob compilation tracks......
...years, bob did get some treatment in Bavaria but this treatment was not recognised by western medical professionals, and the documentary describes it as a sort of cowboy treatment he received out there. An artists of Bobs magnitude surely should have been receiving only the best medical care at this time, as we all know sadly the cancer in bobs toe spread around his body and was the cause of his early death.
Overall i'd give this documentary 8 out of 10 and it has to be one of the bestbob documentaries out there right now, even though the dvd has received very little publicity this does not mean it's not good, if you get the chance to see it then make sure you do, plus u get the pleasure of listening to a BobMarley CD which has the usual compilation tracks.
A Great Film..............

Advantages: Old favourites remixed as "urban duets" Disadvantages: Not for the purists; this isn't real reggae
...here
7. Jammin' (Featuring MC Lyte)
Another Exodus track. This time words fail me. Stutters, house beats, high hats, crashing symbols and MC Lyte saying Bob's name over and over again in the background. If this was played in a club, however, it would bring the house down. I should hate it, but I kind of like it........no no no, what am I saying?? It's horrendous. BobMarley wasn't a dance artist. He was reggae through and through.
Original: 5/5
Remix: 1/5 or 4/5 depending on my righteousness
TAP: The tempo!
8. Kinky Reggae (Featuring The Ghetto Youth Crew)
An authentic reggae rhythm punctuates this track and I am quite pleased about that. However, it's one of Marley's weakest compositions and could have actually done with a bit of tampering! Still, the Ghetto Youth Crew (who?) do their best with this track...

Advantages: Fantastic tracks, very listenable album Disadvantages: Sun is SHining is not on it
...Since seeing The Wailers perform at the London Rise Against Racism festival, it reminded me of how many great songs they have in their repertoire with BobMarley and decided it was long overdue to buy a Best Of compilation.
The album starts off with Is This Love the Marley penned classic from 1978 and the song really needs no introduction. It was taken from the Kaya album, which revolved around the duel themes of love and marijuana, and this instance the song was about love. It is a beautiful song, and certainly at the Rise concert, got the crowd singing. It is followed by No Woman, No Cry originally from the Natty Dread album and is about the struggle of life in the Trenchtown, the rundown part of Kingston, Jamaica where Bob grew up with his mother after his father died. The version of the song on Legend is not from Natty Dread...
