Advantages: Pure joy for Charlie and Lola fans, both children and parents alike
Disadvantages: The track 'Bat Cat' does not go on long enough.

...If you are fed up of nursery rhymes, pop or childrens stories on car journeys and have a Charlie and Lola fan this CD is fantastic for them and you. It has saved us from hell on many a car trip, for the pure sillyness and fun of the songs and lyrics. The CD combines out takes from the TV series of Charlie and Lola talking, with music from the show, and tracks I haven't heard before. Highlights include, 'The bestest in The Barn' which has the lyrics on the inner sleeve (and apparently you can watch the video by loading the CD in your computer, but I haven't tried this yet), 'Germs' which has the best bug noises you will ever hear (I challenge you not to laugh), and 'Bat Cat' which is pure genius. .... Don't Blame Me Really mellow, not how I like my parker, lovely tune, lovely playing, but not wild enough for me. 16. Marmaduke Now we are back to a bit of Parker madness, nice and fast, nice and quirky, gentle piano and drum backing and Charlie doing his thang. 17. Cheers Interesting number, I can really here soul and funk roots in this and the influence Parker had on later music should not be underestimated. 18. My Old Flame Not a live track, and one of Parkers best ballads. from the start it draws you in and each note is played with such precision and feeling that it sometimes (with headphones) makes me cry with joy. Perfect, just perfect. I challenge even folks that do not like jazz, not to like this. Silky and edgy all at once. Advantages: some good tracks
Disadvantages: all the filler tracks like shepards delight

...This is a triple album and most of the songs are just fillers, remixes or instrumentals. This was there 4th album and I can say that I never listen to this start to finish. There are a handfull of songs that are quite good like Charlie don't surf and the rocking Somebody got murdered. But the rest are kind of dub reggae and it also branches out into other stlyes, notabley the awful "loose this skin" which they found an apawling woman singer to screech the track. I have no idea what the clash were thinking of bringing out this album. One more time in the ghetto is one of the best reggae songs with Mikey Dread adding some inpromtu rapping and it works. There is also an intrumental of this song, handy for you Karioke people. They should have chosen the best 15 and what a good single album that would have been.... Read review
