Advantages: Great tracks by a great artist played by great musicians. Disadvantages: None.
...Curtismayfield has to be one of soul's greats. he has a sensitivity that can be felt in his timing and of course his lyrics. The Ronnie Scotts album is a great one for hearing this because of the quality of the musicians Mayfield has gathered and the superb tightness of the band. He plays a nember of Curtis classics (from songs from Superfly, Move on Up etc)but its great to hear the talent of the live musicians taking them to new hights. The purcussion in the track Superfly is nothing short of superb and Lobrian Scott's base playing is an inspiration. Plus, most unusually for a live album, the audience actually manage to clap in time and sing in tune! Testimony to the magical atmosphere that must have been created that night....

Advantages: Richard Ashcroft singing good songs is always an advantage Disadvantages: Will always be compared to the Verve, and it isn't as good
...Aah Dickie. What to make of you. Some say you have unshakable self-belief, others an unjustified arrogance over Radio 2-friendly 'anthems'. Chris Martin declared last Summer to millions you were "the greatest singer in the world", no doubt you agree, but is an unsurpassed voice enough?

Subsequently, the bar is raised. Keys To The World is his next attempt and, like previous albums, its difficult to tell whether it's as far ahead of the pack as Dick Fosbury or simply just a flop.
Opener 'Why Not Nothing' lends Ashcroft's philosophical approach to religion in his best Liam Gallagher impression. An average song alone, it opens well and will have...

Advantages: A variety of different sounds Disadvantages: Not perfect for those who dislike this genre
...It is not often that you come across an albums with so many enjoyable songs. There are very few (if any) songs that could be seen as weak links. After his fantastic debut, The College Dropout, expectations for Late Registration were high. Kanye West did not fail to please. Late Registration shows more maturity than The College Dropout showing Mr West's evolution. Unlike many Hip-Hop albums, Late Registration does not focus on guns and hoes (a downside if this is what you were looking for), this marks a new breed of Hip-Hop.
The subjects of the tracks differ greatly. The album features the hit Diamonds From Sierra Leone and well as the remix featuring Jay Z. As well as featuring general Hip-Hop songs such as Touch the Sky (fantastically using a CurtisMayfield sample), Kanye speaks of drugs and music in a way that is almost shocking...
