...You just have to listen to one of her songs in any album and you will become a fan right away. Her voice has no languages nor barriers. In Mariza's Fado all you can hear is someone singing with her whole heart. In her voice you see a picture, that soon becomes a story. I recomended this CD to all of my friends and colleagues even though they did not understand Portuguese. They soon began understanding fado and have become as passionate of Fado as I have. I own "Fado em mim, Fado Curvo, transparente & Conncerto em Lisboa" all four of them are amazing!!!! I also own the 2 DVD's- Concerto em Lisboa and live in London. Advantages: Every track is amazing

...This is the CD that started it all off for Mariza. It has gone on to being one of the most sold world music titles in the UK of the last 10 years. She appeared on Jules Holland to fill in a gap after Bjork pulled out due to sickness- and i'm glad Bjork was sick that day. A bright star was born. Right from the outstart of this CD, it is excellent. There are no fillers and even though it is sung in Portuguese, you can feel the emotion of every song. From the upbeat 'Oica la Senhor Vinho' to the very emotional 'O gente da minha terra' the talent is shown in abundance. If you like dicovering new talents, then this is the CD for you.... ...I'm absolutely hooked on Fado. Mariza is one of the youngest talented stars of Fado and she is to certain extent developing the art in her own fashion. But make no mistake, her performance of this music renders a well seasoned maturity in the art. Her voice simply sends shudders down my spine. I bought "Fado Curvo" after hearing her first album- 'Fado em mim'. Her fabulous, earthy voice is beautifully set off by settings that vary from traditional to innovative. The haunting "Menino do Bairro Negro" is particularly memorable. All in all, though at first this album may not seem as such a spectacular masterpiece as 'Fado Em Mim', I promise you that it's 'fantasticalness' will be revealed after only a couple of listens and you will not regret buying this cd!...
