Advantages: Fishbone meets Faith No More in a train crash Disadvantages: not everyones taste because it is quite schizophrenic
...Mr Bungle is possibly a band you have never heard of, but don’t feel ashamed. Mr. Bungle formed in 1985 in Eureka California. They took their name from a short educational program about a boy who was unhygienic and generally not nice to be around, the school clown. It was pointed out to them later that Mr. Bungle was the name of a character in a porn movie.
The original lineup of the band consisted of Mike Patton (Vocals), Trevor Dunn (Bass), Trey Spruance (Guitar) and Jed Watts (Drums). The first demo was Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny (1986), consisting of eight tracks of death / thrash metal that shows the bands musical capability, but not their uniqueness. Advantages: Amazing vocals and well crafted music Disadvantages: There aren't any
...After Tool released Aenima in 1996 they entered into a drawn out legal battle with their former label which lasted nearly 2 years. After the legal wrangling had finished the band members decided to take some time off and it was at this juncture Maynard James Keenan joined up with Billy Howardel and Paz Lenchantin to form A Perfect Circle. Keenan was so impressed by what he heard he asked to be the singer on the project and although Howardel had originally wanted a woman for the vocals he accepted the offer and put a band together with himself on guitar, Lenchantin on bass and Keenan on vocals. Later Josh Freese (ex Vandals...

Advantages: Raw album with some strong songs, better than the three albums before it. Disadvantages: Has some weak spots, not anywhere near as good as the three albums released after.
...and Jack, and serves as a dedication. I shall now detail the album tracks:
The album opens up with "Good Time Boys", which is a tribute to the pursuit of having a good time. The lyrics also include references to fellow LA bands Fishbone and Firehose. It is a very feel-good tune with nicely sung vocals, and racey gutar and drum playing. The song is quite powerful and carries you along with it.
"Subway to Venus" is a song dedicated to the recreational use of drugs within music;particularly the hallucinogenic family. It basically tells you to open your mind to the music and let it take you. It is a song about freeing your mind, and is very colourful with it, conjuring all sorts of trippy images. The song is sung with much gusto with a good horn section suppling a much needed funky feel to it. The jangly guitar playing and off-beat drumming, along...
