Advantages: Fast paced and topical joke telling at its best Disadvantages: DVD Extras could have been better
the real Jimmy Carr, unburdened by televisual etiquette he is able to really let fly. Recorded at London's Bloomsbury theatre, 'InConcert' is Jimmy Carr's fourth live DVD, and in my mind it's his best so far, he is on top form with nothing escaping his razor sharp wit.
The always dapper Jimmy Carr seems particularly at home if a member of the audience is silly enough to try and heckle him; his put downs are swift, crisp and very very hard. Be in no doubt that if you heckle Mr Carr you will come a very poor second. One moment worthy of mention is how he deals with an audience member complaining that he is not racist and doesn't tell any racist jokes; his put down is quite brilliant. A lot of the humour is adult based, on more than one occasion I squirmed a little as he tightrope walks that fine line of controversy and bad taste, suffice to ...
Advantages: Lots of shows to choose from, excellent security Disadvantages: None
I have been to the Leas Cliff Hall on several occasions to watch bands such as Embrace and Pink Floyd tribute bands. I have also attended the musical Fame at this location.
The Leas Cliff Hall
There is one main arena at the Leas Cliff Hall and this consists of a large stage, with an open hall area in front on it. At the back of the hall, there are stairs which lead to upper stalls although the seating is fairly limited with only two rows all the way round.
During the concerts that I have attended, there have been no seats laid out and visitors are left to stand in the large open hall area where they can view the band on stage. The only seating available is the higher seating around the outside of the hall.
When I attended the musical Fame, the Leas Cliff Hall had been laid out in a completely different style. Rows of seats had been ...
Advantages: Fantastic Experience Disadvantages: Not Easily Accessible, Expensive
this Cave is on a boat.
Treak Cliff Cavern is however by no means difficult to access. There are two different approaches. The first of these is from the car park of Speedwell Cavern, which can be found at the bottom of one of the steepest roads in England called Winnats Pass. There is a car park here but be warned, this costs £3.00 (?4.50) to park here for 3 hours.
Alternatively, Treak Cliff Cavern can be approached from the Mam Tor road. Mam Tor is the largest Mountain in this area and dominates the area. The Mam Tor road was once a route over the Pennines to Manchester from here, but due to serious land erosion this road has been closed since 1979. It is however possible to drive about one mile (1.5 Km) along this road before it is blocked off. Parking on this road is free but there is no designated car park so the cars just park ...

Album Notes
Personnel: Jimmy Cliff (vocals, guitar); Joseph "Joe" Higgs (vocals, percussion); Ernest Ranglin, Noel "Diggles" Bailey (guitar); Ernest "Sterling" McCleod (keyboards); Earl "Baga" Walker (bass); Carleton "Santa" Davies (drums); Uzziah "Sticky" Thompson (percussion). Although he had been at it for years, it wasn't until the '70s that Jimmy Cliff helped reggae break through to the masses, largely on the strength of his performance as an actor and musician in THE HARDER THEY COME. So it's no surprise that on this 1976 recording, which is both a live record and a greatest hits package, nearly half of the songs come from that stellar record. And judging from the excited crowd response, this was no disappointment. Backed by a loose yet rhythmically tight backup band and vocalists, Cliff delivers 10 impassioned songs in versions that are faithful to the well-loved originals. Cliff is in fine form here, energized and in great voice. While he will forever be associated with reggae, Cliff is comfortable stretching beyond the genre's limitations. "Many Rivers to Cross," one of his signature songs, strongly recalls popular soul ballads of the '60s like "When a Man Loves a Woman." He also revisits an early hit, the enchanting "Wonderful World, Beautiful People," turns in a nifty version of Cat Stevens' "Wild World" and a stirring "Vietnam," among many highlights.
