Advantages: great tracks with lots of memories Disadvantages: Nothing we have not heard before
I would like to start this review with afew facts about Dolly Parton for those who don't already know her and her work.
Born: Dolly Rebecca Parton.
Place: Sevierville, Tennessee.
Date: 19 th January, 1946
She was 4th of twelve children and began performing at the age of 9, when she was appearing on the Cas Walker Show on WBIR- TV in Noxville , Tennessee. She recorded her first Album on a small label, Goldband at the age of 13 and also appeared at the Grand Ole Oprey in Nashville.
She is an accomplished musician, playing Guitar, banjo, autoharp , piano and drums.
Also a Grammy winning, Academy Award winner, Country Singer, Songwriter, Composer, Author , actress.
Now to this album.
This is a very good album, with many of her best known songs, and also some not so well known.

Advantages: A good mix of songs Disadvantages: Doesnt help you get through the housework
A cd thats a couple of years old now but still fun to listen to.
I mean this cd says its meant to help you through the housework but I personally dont think it really does,if anything it distracts you,because you just start singing along to all the great tracks this album has to offer, you get caught up in the music and completely lose track of what you were doing - maybe a good thing in a way :-)
Housework vol1 is a double album that has some cracking songs that you just dont seem to hear on the radio anymore such as The Beach Boys - Help Me Rhonda and Don McLeans - American Pie.
The songs on this album just make you feel good and really help to lift your spirits,but I honestly think its marketed wrong,this is a feel good album for anyone just not people doing the housework.I dont think the title of the album really represents ...
Advantages: Excellent lyrics and fantastically written and performed Disadvantages: It's very difficult to stop listening to!
One of the best albums I have heard in a long time and certainly some of Thrice's best work. The music is captivating and the lyrics are genious. Very different to most alternative rock we hear at the moment and definately worth a listen.
The Fire and Water elements are probably my favourite volumes of the Alchemy Index as each track is superbly written and really does present each element well. The 'Fire' tracks are heavy and rocky and give that uncontrollable feel of fire, whereas the 'Water' tracks are calm and actually quite soothing when you listen to them properly, just as water would be.
Overall, this album is very original and one of Thrice's best albums so far.
Best songs in my opinion: 'Firebreather' (Fire) and 'Digital Sea' (Water) ...
