Advantages: Diversity and talent Disadvantages: Not to everyone's tastes
...This is an album by somebody that can play! Yes a real live musician, no samples etc.
The album has great latin rythms and some scorching tracks and the best thing about it is the diversity. Santana duets with great artists and his guitar playing is amazing.
Some tracks rock, like smooth and others are a more chilled Latin flavour. It is a great album and different from most things that you will hear in mainstream, UK music.
All the tracks are good, but they are not all in the style of Smooth, and some will be an aquired taste. I didn't like the album on first listen, but it is a grower and has real musical talent in it.
Buy it, persevere and you will like....

Advantages: Interesting Musical Metamorphosis of very good songs Disadvantages: none in particular
...The actual title of this album is "Reversiones/Siempre es Hoy" (or "Remixes/Siempre Es Hoy").
It is a double album of remixes from Gustavo Cerati's previous album, entitled "Siempre Es Hoy" (It's Always Today), which I will review separately when my product suggestion comes through.

I purchased my copy in Argentina, but amazon.co.uk sell it for £11.99 new or from £6.95 for a used copy.

Gustavo Cerati is an Argentinean and one of the most famous living artists to come out of LatinAmerica. Although he is seen as a "Rock" artist...

Advantages: tuneful rock with a latin flavour Disadvantages: all the lyrics are in spanish
...Juanes delivers the most fiesty, danceable rock you've ever heard. He's a Columbian rock star who's huge all over LatinAmerica and Europe, and deservedly so. To my English ears, his sound, which draws on lots of latin dances, is really fresh. It's just a shame that people think artists who sing in Spanish can't make it in Britain, cos this guy's the best antidote to depressive angst-ridden boys with guitars ever. He's a voice from the land of eternal summer come to rid you of the rainy-day blues.
'Un dia normal' (I don't think that needs a translation) is his second album, and a really good place to start. The first track, 'A Dios le pido' is a prayer full of the joy of life. There are a couple of beautiful ballads ('fotographia' with Nelly Furtado is a gentle song about missing someone) and some forgettable ones ('Es por ti'). Things...
