I have one of my best friends to blame for purchasing this album, not that I mind. Everytime we go out to her local pool club there is a juke box and she will always choose a couple of tracks from this album. Then I decided I wanted to be able to listen to the whole album whenever I wanted. I went into HMV in Oxford street a couple of weeks ago and I seached the cd's under A and came across the album and checked the tracks and decided yep. Queued ...
...which I think is the best thing any artist can possibly do. If they vary their music I feel they will get more fans as their music will suit more moods. This was yet another great purchase into my listening collection and I have listened to it everyday since I purchased it nearly two weeks ago and not just once that day, possibly two or three times. The Best Of Me comes only 6 years after the last Bryan Adams compilation, and more than half the tracks here featured on 1993's So Far So Good. Those which appear for the first time are arguably the right choices - Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman, When You're Gone and Cloud #9 among them. So, in its defence, the standout tracks from his albums since 1993 (Unplugged included) are all featured here, even the Chicane collaboration "Don't Give Up" ...
...- and their remix of Cloud #9, marked a long overdue change of musical direction. Hopefully it's the start of a new phase in his career, and this money-making exercise - which is of little value to those who shelled out for So Far So Good - will be excused. ... Read review

...I decided to buy *The Best of Me* because it simply contains all the best songs every sung and recorded by Bryan Adams. Those songs are 1: The Best of me - Recorded in 1999 This is quite a slow song and as it is the title of the album i thought it would have more of a kick to it like the rest of the songs. Nevertheless it gets you in the mood for more Bryan. 2: Cant stop this thing we started - Recorded in 1991 This song is also on the album ...
...in my opinion all the best work ever done by Bryan Adams and it is great to have them all on one CD - these tracks go right back to the 1980's right up until 1999/2001. I got this CD from Woolworths for the bargain price of £9.99 and was well chuffed that it contained all my favourite songs by the one artist. ...I am a big fan of Bryan Adams,always have been and always will be,but to be honest this album just didnt do it for me,I mean it was Bryan Adams but in my opinion it is not the best album he has released. For me it is one of those inbetweeny albums. I dont really love it but i do enjoy listening to every so often -its his voice! This album was released in 2008, and contains 12 tracks, off these 12 my favourite songs are shes got a way and oxygen. I think that alot of the tracks on the album are not ones you will instantly like but are more that will grown on you after you have heard the a couple of times. Each song is not really that differnt though and kind of offers a typical sounding Bryan Adamas song which is where this album is a bit of a letdown for me,it feels like he has just stuck to his old style and sound and hasnt... ...Now before I begin, let me set the record straight. I like Bryan Adams, I do, I?ve seen him several times in concert and he?s guaranteed to give a good show and I?d happily go again?.. But! This latest album offering begs the question, honestly, is he losing it, or is there something I?m just not getting? Now the real Adams classics like ?summer of ?69?, ?waking up the neighbours? and even the dreaded, you either love it or hate it, ?everything I do? are in a completely different league to everything on this album, that may be an unfair sweeping generalisation and maybe if I heard pieces like this in isolation I would feel differently but the main gripe I have with this album, is how this hangs together as an album. If I am going to play any album regularly in my household it needs to satisfy certain criteria, I have to like most... Read review
