Advantages: A few really good song; Great singing; Amazing piano solos Disadvantages: Some boring songs; A lot of intrumental songs
...This was the first album I'd bought by PeggyLee, after hearing a few of her songs from the internet, and I was quite impressed.
It may just be my taste, but in my opinion quite a lot of the songs are dull, and I almost always skip the instrumentals.
PeggyLee is brilliant, as usual, and George Shearing is enough to make you want to take up Piano.
The album's best songs have to be -
2: I Lost My Sugar In Salt Lake City
7: Blue Prelude
8. You Came A Long Way From St Louis
9: Always True To You In My Fashion
11: Get Out Of Town (has an AMAZING piano solo)
13: Nobody's Heart
Some of the songs take a while to get into, but you probably won't regret buying this album....

In the closing tracks of this first CD you may recognise the voice of Eva Cassidy, a singer-songwriter who shot to fame, partly through being put on the Radio 2 playlist a few years ago, with her powerful cover of 'Over the Rainbow'. Here she duets with one of the (very) few men to feature, Chuck Brown, with whom she also made an LP 'The Other Side' in 2001, although this track does not appear on it.
~~~ CD 2 has more Billie Holiday and PeggyLee, and also some more artistes with whom I...
Advantages: Wonderful singer Disadvantages: None come to mind
...The perfect marriage of Rhythm & Rhyme…
When this album was released in the March of 1992, I personally had never heard of K.D. Lang.
All this was about to change with the release of “Constant Craving” as a single from the album I was completely blown away what a performance, I had never heard anything like it before.
On one hand the vocals reminded me of an old torch singer like PeggyLee or Patsy Cline but on the other hand there was an element in her voice that give me the feel of Elvis or Roy Oribson, this was enough of a reason for me to go and buy the album.
As the album opened with the track “Save me” I held my breath this was heart stopping stuff, as I checked the sleeve notes I saw not only was she a voice to die for but she co-wrote all the tracks, all with her producers Greg Penny and Ben...
