Advantages: Great if you love Bob Marley
Disadvantages: Some good songs absent

...Peter Tosh is probably best known as a founding member of 'The Wailers'. A typical Jamaican kid who dreamed of Reggae stardom and found sucess after meeting Bob Marley and the other founding members of the band. I'm not a huge expert on the man so if you want more details look else where, but I thought as noone else had done a review of him I should write something. This album is a collection of his solo work which never really charted that highly although he took part in a few big name tours. The album starts with a great cover of Chuck Berry's Johnny B Goode probably his most successful chart hit. After that follows the usual supply of anti-war and pro-cannabis songs. The man's quality shines throughout the album proving himself not just as an excellent singer/lyricist but also a talanted guitarist to boot.... Read review

Advantages: It's Peter Gabriel
Disadvantages: None come to mind

...different sound to the previous tracks and song ends with the words “her father is out on in the boat riding the water Riding the waves on the sea” and as quietly it began the song ends with a bass note that fades into the distance. The following track begins with simply with Gabriel exclaiming “Hi There” crash the sound of snare drum and more of Larry Klein funky fretless bass sound to herald the start of “Big time” which is the closest to a simple pop song on the album with it’s chorus of “Big Time” which has Jill Gabriel singing backing vocals Peter’s now ex-wife, this track was released as a single in March 1987 catalogue number Charisma PGS3 and it reached number 13 in the UK chart. Advantages: Useful for helping to teach yung children about musical instruments
Disadvantages: The story is a little bit grown up for some of the younger audiences.

...Sergei Prokofiev is a fantastic composer and this is one of his best works. Peter and the Wolf is a story about how a child disobeys his gandfathers advice, and has a rather scary encounter with a wolf. He is saved by some huntsmen and the story ends happily. Each of the characters has its own representative instrument from the orchestra. Peter, a young boy is represented by the strings, who have lots of tunes with excellent harmonies. Peter's grandfather, whom Peter ignores, is played by the bassoons, a personal favourite of mine as i myself play one. I think that the bassoon has been chosen to play the grand father because it has a sense of age, and, being a bass instrument, has a sense of authority and towards the end sternness for the disobedience of Peter.
