...I purchased this REM album in my relentless pursuit to own everything ever written by REM. It is now quite old, but still one of the best and most unique and original music albums around today. It contains all of REM's most well known hits including "Everybody hurts", "man on the moon" and "the sidewinder sleeps tonight". It is certainly the most easy listening of all 12 REM albums and contains the most well known REM hits, making it in my opinion one of the best albums ever written. Advantages: Expected R.E.M quality shines through
Disadvantages: Has been over shadowed by more recent R.E.M material

...The album "Document"is truly amazing!R.E.M have come up trumps with this offering of musical wizardrey as they have done so many times before. Such tracks as "Strange" & "It's the end of the world as we know it" are brilliant and some of the best I have heard in a long time from R.E.M. The album is made up of many typical R.E.M tunes but also some more original material.The lyrics are fabulous and make you want to go out and by R.E.M's other albums. I have listened to this album over and over again and I never get tired of it, infact, it seems to just get better and better! I would recommend this album to those who are already fans of R.E.M but also to those who may be sceptical as this is overall a really fine album.I take my hat off to R.E.M as they have really out done themselves, once again, with this musical offering.... Advantages: its still R.E.M.
Disadvantages: lacking in outstanding songs.

...I thionk if i was ever going to rate an R.E.M. album 'Poor' then this would be it. But as an R.E.M. fan i still quite enjoy it, there are better albums by far but this one isnt the best. Truth be told i think you have to be a big R.E.M. fan to get enjoyment out of this one. If you are just a general music fan surfing round this could be one to miss. and if this is the first R.E.M. album you listen to then you may well be put off (at your peril!) Its lacking really great songs and is instead just an album full of average songs. From an R.E.M. fan, this is their weakest album. The fact is you can pick this album up for about £2.50 so i would pay it! but if i was being honest, i wouldnt recommend it!... Read review
