Ruben Blades was a Panama's singer with Salsa's songs that is a mix of huahuanco, son and mambo (all of them Cuban's music) with a Jazz being as musicians the form of this music as two part the first with some verse and at the end the chorus having the actual Salsa thisform. He recorded his songs with Wilie Colon Orquestra being famous at the seventies, having the characteristic that some of his song has more that 7 minutes being rare at this time because it couldn't recorded in a 45 RPM record. About Ruben Blades' lyrics it don't talk about love talking about the politics, poor society , for example in "Pedro Navaja" Blades says about the New York night's life as a dangerous city or in "Plastico" talks about the American and the Latin families, and there are many example of it. That compositions are because at this time Blades was a lawer student and now is a lawyer in Politics life being the Panama's Culture Minister. ------- About his recordings his discography Barreto Los muchachos de Belen Sin tu carino Prepara Juan Pachanga La palabra adios Metiendo mano Siembra Canciones del Solar de los Aburridos Maestra Vida and others. -------- About this CD is a recopilation of the best songs of Ruben Blades as I recommend "Pedro Navaja", "Siembra", "Plastico", "Maestra Vida", "Desiciones" all of them as a format that I explain lines up, the songs are in Spanish
