Advantages: Too many to list Disadvantages: Some of Scott's solo stuff is 'difficult'
...Scott Engel, pretty-boy session man in Hollywood, still only in his early 20's. He decides that he wants a bigger slice of the pie and sets up a band with guitarist John Maus and drummer Gary Leeds. They move base to England, Scott Engel becomes Scott Walker and the legend begins.
How do you define the importance and beauty of the music created by Scott Walker and the Walker Brothers in a few paragraphs? It's almost impossible.
To begin with it was Scott Walker and The Walker Brothers. Between 1965 and 1967 they were responsible for some of the classic moments in pop. Think 'Make It Easy On Yourself' with it's sweeping orchestration and Scott's velvety smooth, impossibly beautiful vocals. It's a stunning song that is instantly recognizable. A song that, in 200 years, will still be so. Think 'The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore' building...

Advantages: live music at its best Disadvantages: absoloutly none!
...As a Foo fighters fan I was rather depressed when it was like impossible for me to go see them live. Therefore when they released skin and bones their first ever live CD I was understandably excited. The interpretations of songs such as "best of you" and "everlong" are amazing and totally unique. Listening is like being transported back into what must have been a magical night in Hollywood a few months ago.
my two favourites are "razor" purely because of the fantastic ending adn "best of you". Dave Grohl has once again succeeded in making the grohl, Hawkins, Mendel, Shiflett lineup as successfull, if not more, than ever before.
I have to recommened this Cd to and Foo fighters fan or potential fan as it really captures whatever mood your in and plays with your emotions....

Left is the spinal cord of his talent: perfect pop melodies and quintessential song writing. Gone are the Scott Walker influences, the string quartets of the early days or the large formations of the later years - Joby Talbot is still in charge of the string section, but is, this time, very much in the background -, in are simple guitar and piano lines and a more classic pop/rock structure. Hannon...
