It has a catchy little keyboard riff and the bands typical slow and almost ska sounding rhythm. 6)Slippery People(Live) One of the only live songs on the album this song is noticeably louder than the other ones and its has a really funky guitar riff, the singer sounds a bit out of it(im not sure if that’s cause of the music style or if it is cause he was out of it when it was recorded?!). ... Ok so maybe I'm showing my age here but if you don't have any Talking Heads in your collection then you're really missing something! This album opens with the classic Psycho Killer - nothing like a good title for a track!! and has all their big hits such as; Burning Down The House, And She Was, Road to Nowhere and Wild Wild Life. I think Talking Heads' music varies from quite surreal, hippy-ish rubbish to completely wonderful, classic songs. This album is a compilation of fourteen tracks from 1977 to 1992 & I would say I usually prefer the older ones. Although I love their track Psycho killer, I actually prefer The Flying Pickets' version from some years ago ! I think Once In A Lifetime is my favourite track from this album. And She Was & Road To Nowhere are also good too ... Read review

...HMV where I found The Best of Talking Heads - Once In A Lifetime for a tenner and a bargain it was too! Not only did it have some of the all-time classic 'Heads tracks like Road to Nowhere, And She Was and Wild Wild Life, but also a host of other tracks that I had never heard before like Psychokiller and their version of Take Me To The River which is now my favourite version! Other notables on the album are Burning Down The House, Sax and Violins ...
...thing about Talking Heads is their style..like no other. The lead singer, David Byrne, has a unique voice and in tracks like Once In A Lifetime and Take Me To The River it really tells. The originality of the music is brilliant and it has to be said that Talking Heads helped to spearhead the move of Rock and Pop into the Eighties and Nineties...it's just a shame that they split so early and I hope that they might get back together again very soon! ...
