..., reached gold in her native Portugal and was a mix of African rhythms and melodic pop songs.
Sara Tavares was also nominated for the "Globos de Ouro" (Golden Globes), the Portuguese Grammies in the Category: Best Artist for their new albums.
The Golden Globe Awards were created 11 years ago, in order to distinguish people from several areas like Music.
She has been working on her African roots for the past five years and has come up in February 2006 with this third album (what she calls an album of "lullabies to myself'') 'Balancé'.
'Balance' is an album filled with sweet R&B rhythms, smooth grooves, and multi-lingual lyrics (Portuguese, English, and Crioulo- the language of Capeverdeans).
In this record produced by Sara herself, she wrote and composed all the songs and played many of the instruments. 'Balancé' is a beautiful record in which...

Advantages: Great album, very catchy and smooth tunes Disadvantages: None!
...'A Funk Odyssey' is without a doubt the best album Jamiroquai has made. Slow, smooth tunes fill your brain with delight while on the other side there are the disco-like, fast songs. A great blend of Jamiroquai's talents.
There are only 10 songs on the disc, but still that is enough to get you involved in 'Jay Kay's' music. The slower songs, like 'Corner of the Earth', 'Picture of my Life' and 'Black Crow' really show you how Jay's life is, while the faster songs, like 'Little L', 'Love Foolosophy' and 'Main Vein' really bring you back to the times when the Tavares and Barry White were the big shots. Advantages: 2 or 3 very good songs. The album is very cheap Disadvantages: Some very awful tracks
...This album is marketed as being great for parties and some of the tracks are typical 1970s dance-floor fillers. However, some of the songs are not the best choices that could have been made.
The first track is "You Sexy Thing " by Hot Chocolate. Everyone knows this and it's a great opener. Just make sure nobody tries to strip off!
Following on from this is "More Than A Woman" by Tavares. Ah, a track from "Saturday Night Fever". What 1970s compilation album would be complete without it?
The third song is "That's The Way (I Like It) by KC & The Sunshine Band. Not as good as "Give It Up", which I think just squeezed into the back end of the 1970s but still a decent party tune.
"Movin'" by Bass Construction and "Nut Bush City Limits" by Ike and Tina Turner are next - again, not bad tracks for this kind of album.
The hilarious "Tiger...
