All over Maiden albums rock but this one takes the highlights of classics such as 'Number Of The Beast' and 'Piece Of Mind' and puts them all together on two brilliant Compact Discs (hence the 'Best Of The Beast' Title).

Advantages: It has every Maiden classic you can think of! Disadvantages: A few tracks which really shouldn't be on there.
...my dreams was Iron Maiden's Best Of The Beast. Tracks have been ripped from the very albums they first appeared on, to this fantastic compilation of Maiden's best eddie tunes. I refer to Eddie of course as a half human, half underworld creature who has taken many forms as Iron Maiden's mascot. This includes a WW1 fighter pilot from the cover of "Aces High", a huge god like egyptian statue guarding the pyramids on "Powerslave" and Eddie can also been ... ...this track was put on Best of the Beast. Originally sung by Bruce Dickinson on Fear of the Dark, this live version is sung by Blaze Bayley.
Man On The Edge: The compilation takes a twist when Gers and Bayley's creation bursts into a catchy riffs and quick drum parts. Man on the Edge never quite made it into Maiden's more mordern live sets, but it is still loved amongst many fans.
Be Quick Or Be Dead: This trak has ben the starter for many Maiden ...

Advantages: Good Balanced Album Disadvantages: Doesn't Have Phantom Of The Opera On It!
...album. Has one of the best opening riffs of any Maiden song, which is more upbeat and quickened than usual. Great rhythm that follows the outstanding start. Solo works well in context with the song, with some good notes/chords. Lyrics are a little basic in places, but generally well written. Overall good song.
10. Man On The Edge (4:30)
Taken from 'The X Factor' album. One of the songs from the album that contained singer Blaze Bailey. Opening ... ...solo and some of the best lyrics Maiden have written, make this song a great one.
15. The Trooper (4:11)
Taken from 'Piece Of Mind' album. Another one of Maiden's more famous songs. Has a good opening riff, that leads to some simplistic rhythm, but still good. Solo is exceptional and is the second only to the exceptional lyrics as the best thing of this song.
16. Hallowed Be Thy Name (7:10)
Taken from 'Number Of The Beast' album. Has a surreal ...

One drawback Review ofBest Of The Beast, The - Iron Maidenby
Vasheesht
Advantages: just about every popular song of the band Disadvantages: no phantom of the opera
...iron maiden. one of the best rock bands in the world and still are. ever since the reins of 50 cent and blabla crappy rappy un hippy hop stuff we have still kept and conserved rock in us and it is comming back through again. Lets get back to the album review. It is an excellent piece of art this music is. There is nothing wrong with them and they are not one of those pure distortion bands, they are hard rock not heavy metal and they are excellent ...

...All i have to say about this is what more would you want from a cd. This best of album is best of most of my cd's and contains all the great hits that IronMaiden are renouned for ripping out. It contains tune after tune and there are numerous possibilities to take the air guitar out of the cupboard and play along while from the moment it begins i am almost always singing along at the top of my voice, to the discontent of the neighbours. Tracks include The number of the beast, Aces high, Two minutes t midnight, Bring your daughter, and many more. if cd's only lived for two days i would either buy a male and female best of the beast album in a vain attempt to breed them or get a new one every other day....

...This album was released by the metal giants IronMaiden in 1996. The CD is quite self explanatory, it really is the best tracks of the band to date, although it could have been better as a two disk album as Maiden have plenty more awesome tracks they could include.
The tracks on the standard edition of the CD are:
1. "The Number of the Beast"
2. "Can I Play With Madness"
3. "Fear of the Dark" (Live)
4. "Run to the Hills"
5. "Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter"
6. "The Evil That Men Do"
7. "Aces High"
8. "Be Quick or Be Dead"
9. "2 Minutes to Midnight"
10. "Man on the Edge"
11. "Virus"
12. "Running Free" (Live)
13. "Wasted Years"
14. "The Clairvoyant"
15. "The Trooper"
16. "Hallowed Be Thy Name"
Personally Ironmaiden are a favourite band of mine so any release from them is great, well this is no exception. The band...

Advantages: All good songs Disadvantages: No ace of spades or jack the ripper
...Hi Im Vasheesht. You may remeber me from the likes of Ironmaiden-best of Beast and slipknot. Im also a big fan of Motorhead also a good band with ace of spades reprisenting how good they are in which that song represents them. Lemmy Kilmisters voice has to go in rock star voices history with is husky gravel voice its so unique. his songs must also go well with those bearded harley davidson motorcycle riders gong in texas in groups. An excellent band. Its my favourite album but why didnt they add just ace of spades and jack the ripper and it would be perfect Just those bits and maybe Lifes a bitch would to fine then you have the perfect motorhead collection. in the greatest hits realleased in 2000 a lot of theses songs werent in it....
