The Chieftans were a band I grew up listening to , and I always felt a connection with their music. I have only the most tenuous of links to Ireland, but the music of that country, lovingly performed and personalised by The Chieftans, could take hold of the most hardened heart. Their best tracks comprise something for every mood. If you are feeling lost or sad, or maybe want to wallow a bit in misery, then they have haunting laments on the flute or Irish pipes. On the other hand, if you are feeling so lively that your feet don't know what to do with themselves, put on one of their jigs and dance like a madman round the living room. Their whoops and yells will send shivers of excitement coursing through you, and within seconds you will believe you are at the biggest barn dance of all time.

I love the Chieftans too. It would be good if you could name some off the tracks in your review, just to give a better idea of the type of music they produce.
