Drifters' Golden Era (1959-64)--after the frequently dazzling early records with Clyde McPhatter, but featuring the consummate vocal stylings of Ben E. King, Rudy Lewis, Johnny Moore, and more on 16 memorable hits. Among the pinnacles: "There Goes My Baby", the record whose unsettling, soaring strings launched the soul era; the romantic perfection of "Save the Last Dance for Me", "This Magic Moment" and the catchy, Latin-bouncing "Sweets for My Sweet"; and the eternally evocative cityscapes of "Up on the Roof", "Under the Boardwalk" and the stark, gritty "On Broadway". Sleepers include the heartrending Bacharach ballad "Please Stay", "I Count the Tears" (ripped off later on the Grass Roots hit "Let's Live for Today") and "When My Little Girl Is Smiling", on which strings foreshadow the folk-rock movement. This is an ideal starter kit on these seminal uptown soul pioneers; those seeking further revelations (and there are plenty of them) are referred to Rockin' & Driftin': The Drifters Box. --Ken Barnes

Advantages: Excellent street racing movie Disadvantages: The ending, your wondering what could happen
...I have seen the first two and love that type of movie. This time the movie is set in Toyko as you can tell from the title. I wont go into details as it would spoil the film, but the start is brilliant and starts with a drag style race. Things happen and the main character moves and gets involved with drifters and the movie really kicks off then.
Brand new cars, excellent acting... There is a scene with one of the bestdrifters in tokyo in the movie as well.
The film builds on the main character and the way the character progresses and the relationship with the female character. At the end the is a fantastic race scene on the edge of a clift.
The final scene is back where the main character starts and you get to see an old face right as the movie ends......

Advantages: Amazing debut, groundbreaking lyrics Disadvantages: Not abundantly available
...For those that don't know Jehst is the cream of the UK hip-hop crop, champion of a scene that is rapidly maturing into a force to be reckoned with on the global hip-hop stage.
Jehst's appeal is his simply amazing lyrics - any fan of underground hip-hop (Artifacts, Heiorglyphics, Early Wu-Tang, you know the score) will be bowled over by this guy, while his honesty, insight annd edge mean thaat fans of more mainstream material (Jay-Z, Nas, BIG, Pac etc etc) will also be feeling him.
This is Jehst's sublime debut album, literally one of the best hip-hop albums I've ever heard (and I own nearly 2000). His lyrcis are simply unbelievable, and those who are into wordplay and lyrical content will be loving this immediately. The album consists of the six tracks from his earlier EP 'High Plains Drifter' (no longer available), and a host...

Advantages: Interesting and original music, oldschool hip hop breaks Disadvantages: poor sound quality at times
...After reading many reviews of the Beastie boys I decided to go out and buy this album. Boy am I glad that I did! I did some research too about their past.
The Beastie Boys were one of the hit sounds of the 70's and were originally started by Mike D. Their mix of hip hop and funk brought their music originality and their witty lyrics continue to surprise everyone. They basically did what they wanted, when they wanted and didnt care about anybody elses opinions. Their are 15 tracks on the album. These are the names
1. To all the girls
2. Shake your rump
3. Johnny Ryall
4. Egg man
5. High plains drifter
6. Sounds of science
7. Three minute rule
8. Hey ladies
9. Five piece chicken dinner
10. Looking down the barrel of a gun
11. Car thief
12. What comes around
13. Shadrach
14. Ask for Janice
15. B boy bouillabaisse
All of which...
