Advantages: It's Buddy Holly - Enough Said!
Disadvantages: Unfortunately, Buddy's guitar disappears behind the over dubbing

...Unfortunately after Buddy's death, his Manager, Norman Petty hired the Fireballs, who overdubbed much of the original guitar and music by Buddy & the Crickets. The result is that the original music is so far back in the mix, they might as well have not bothered! Buddy Holly was without doubt a musical genius, he was experiementing with elementary overdubbing before his untimely and tragic death. Therefore it is a great shame that Norman Petty treated his music this way. If you want to hear the real Buddy Holly, then there are available collections which have the original undubbed music on them, but you may have to shop around. Buddy's music is far too important and indeed, enjoyable to be treated this way, and you the listener deserve the real thing, rather than a heavily overdubbed version.... Read review

Advantages: Another brilliant British prog rock album
Disadvantages: none whatsoever

...the level of the earlier three. I got this at HMV for the ridiculously small amount of £3.99, it came out in 1996 as the 25th anniversary rerelease. As with the earlier anniversary editions of their back catalogue, it has a 28 page booklet detailing the background to the album, how the songs were put together, and clippings from the press at the time. Roger Glover also reminisces about the making of the album, from which it appears that the band did not seem to think this album as their best, being rather rushed!! . It's worth the entrance fee on its own, even without listening to the music, but hey you don't buy Fireball just to read how it was made do ya. So you get the original 7 tracks of the vinyl, plus nine extra cuts. THE ORIGINAL ALBUM The title bursts out of the speakers; it's all urgency, seemingly everyone playing... Read review

...soundtrack. You definitely will not be missing your 15 quid or so after your purchase because you are bound to love it, especially if you loved the film. Tack List Third Eye Blind - New Girl Tonic - You Wanted More Blink 182 - Mutt Sugar Ray - Glory Super Transatlantic - Super Down Dishwalla - Find Your Way Back Home Dan Wilson of Semisonic & Bic Runga - Good Morning Baby Shades Apart - Stranger By The Day Bachelor Number One - Summertime Goldfinger - Vintage Queen Bic Runga - Sway The Loose Nuts - Wishen The Atomic Fireballs - Man With The Hex The American Pie Two soundtrack should be out soon. The songs that I have heard off it so far are of great quality. Blink 182 make another appearance with a typical high tempo, bouncing song. Alien Ant Farm joins the Pie with another good one, called Good (For a women). I think the best three... Read review
