entirety of the 1960s, the Impressions epitomised Chicago soul with their irresistible gospel pop and gently pleading harmonies. At the centre of this remarkable creative machine was Curtis Mayfield, architect of some of pop's most memorable moments. His breathy vocals and standard-setting guitar playing, along with sumptuous horn arrangements, are cool, refreshing and soothing. The uplifting tone is bolstered by inspirational lyrics concerning civil rights and social awareness. Not for nothing did Mayfield's spiritual tales of the strength of black America, such as "It's All Right" and "Keep On Pushin", significantly dent the charts. While other vocal groups struggled in this period with comparatively bland efforts that were ersatz and off-the-boil, the Impressions were too sophisticated, too good and too on-the-pulse to ever get left behind. --Ben Clancy

Advantages: Solid album Disadvantages: Not enough tracks
...Likely You Go Your Way And I'll Go Mine - great chords and good lyics.
10. Temporary Like Achilles - an okay song with a more traditional folk sound.
11. Absolutely Sweet Marie - a good song, but not one of the best on the album.
12. 4th Time Around - good song and good lyrics.
13. Obviously 5 Believers - an awesome song with great backup electric guitar and harmonica.
14. Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands - a good way to close the album, and the title gives an impression of what the song is like. // 10
Impression: This is one of the best albums I've ever heard. It's one of the few albums that I can listen to the whole thing without getting bored. The song has something for everyone, with folk fans, people who like Blues and even people who like rock will appreciate this album. This album can best be described as a masterpiece, and although I...

Advantages: Good easy listening Disadvantages: Nothing to write home about
...‘Gotta get back, gotta figure out a way, I’m losing – my senses to you. Where’d it go, the bluebird I should follow. Back home? But where is home? Guess it won’t amount to much, won’t be long before I crush, I’ll stand in line, don’t believe a thing they say, today.’
DON’T YOU THINK?
‘Some people, don’t worry, bout nothing, don’t know what’s going on, I’m not one, who can’t say they’re sorry, I just care what’s going on.’
IMPRESSED
‘Sweet confetti out looking for a saviour. Finding it hard to break the chain. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Ice cream beauty acting on her best behaviour. Finding it hard to bite her tongue. Feeling so old as the night is young. Six foot leaning on a lizard chest. Two red dragons ironed on his vest. All that money you deserve the best. I’m impressed, I’m impressed.’
WISHING I WAS THERE
‘I...

Advantages: Great Hits Once again 2 BONUS TRACKS! Disadvantages: none
...After a well deserved break, No Doubt Returned with their forth album entitled Return Of Saturn, although a strange title, this album is once again crammed with hits!
This was the second album of No Doubts that I bought which included the great come-back single "New" which is a great fast dance type rock track which is still one of my all time faves!
Follow-ups to the return single failed to impress or make it into the top 10. Other releases included Simple Kind Of Life and Marry Me both good tracks but not in my view the best off this album.
Tracks that Impress me especially are Bathwater a boppy little number and a classic in my view, Six feet Under with great Drumming from the band member Adrian Young. Suspension is another great with a spingy sound at the beginning which seems really strange in sounding.
Gwen sings quite...

Advantages: an all new sound Disadvantages: takes a while to grasp
...After the dissapointment of THE LAST TEMPTATION, i was in two minds if i was to buy BRutal planet. On the first listen i was not impressed at all, but with further listening i was impressed by the overall feel of the cd. The tracks i feel are not in the same catagory as vintage alice but as a new kind of sound it is up the with the best the metal scene has to offer at this moment. The production is top notch and the songwriting is basic but very strong. It is the best since constrictor but listen with an open mind because it is different....

The songs a great lovely lyrics great tunes,
My favorite is 'sorry' about him a natasha i'm guessing very emostional song, and allso 'show me the real you' where the title comes from.
lyrics are totally original, nothing like the previous.

Advantages: More than a few good songs Disadvantages: Claimed by many "noobs"
...Okay so Arch Enemy have a gorgeous vocalist, and an ex-carcass member in the line up...
Still not impressed?
Well with tracks such as:
Dehumanization
End of the line
Leader of the rats
We will rise
....this album cant go unheard or untouched.
Mr(s) Amott still continues to excel himself on guitar. Excellent solos and riffs all included. (see tracks mentioned above)
Also, lyrically, this album is solid and did not fail to impress me in the slightest.
you'll be glad to see the CD comes with 2 discs, and YES it actually has more than 8 songs on the album. A rarity in the somewhat mainstream music production line.
This is only the second studio album this band has done with Angela Gossow
I reccommend this to all metal fans!...
