Advantages: Fabulous production, a real mix of styles Disadvantages: None!
...throwing in a bit of the unexpected. This album is probably their most accesible to date, there is literally something on here that will appeal to everyone, whatever your taste in music. I really can't pick a favourite track off the album. The album art is big, dominant and in your face. "Push The Button" really does show that The Chemical Brothers are still on top of their game. If you ever have the chance to see the Chemical Brothers Live at a festival make sure you do; they put on one of the best lives shows I have ever seen, it is truely amazing.
So, all it really remains for me to say is, go buy this album. You will not be disappointed.

Advantages: Well-packaged Disadvantages: Shows the band past their prime - for diehard fans only
...track laid down with Roy Wood of Wizzard who was touring the US in 1974, had the makings of a good song, though it was only a fraction over two minutes long and never really developed properly. Brian produced some more interesting introspective songs in "Add Some Music To Your Day" and "Til I Die", and Bruce Johnston's "Tears In The Morning" was pleasant enough, but - hey, guys, cheer up. Do you have to be introspective if not downright miserable all the time? "Here Comes The Night", their answer to "Saturday Night Fever" and an attempt to show that the Wilson brothers could take the Gibb brothers on at their own white suits and medallion man game, may have been much derided, but at least it had some life in it. Otherwise they had to fall back on endless cover versions of songs like "California Dreamin'", "Peggy Sue" and "Rock...

Advantages: five stars for the Scott Walker songs alone Disadvantages: the rest of the album is forgettable, but Scott's songs are amazing
...Scott tracks in the future. It was, in every sense, a brand new beginning.
"Shut Out" is probably the most commercial track here, a frantic beat and squalling guitars compete with Scott's declamatory vocal style, heavily compressed and shorn of it's usual romantic sheen. The lyrics, as with most of the songs he would write from this point on, are a confused jumble of disturbing images.
"Nite Flights" - the title song is excellent. A powerful drum beat underpins the song as the lyrics enter dark territory - "the dark dug up by dogs, the stitches torn and broke, the raw meat fist you choke..." very strange images are put into the head of the listener. David Bowie loved this album, or rather the Scott songs, and recorded a stunning cover of "Nite Flights" on his 1993 album Black Tie White Noise. Bowie's cover is one of his best ever...
