...Who doesn't love a bit of early '90's hair metal - you just can beat it!! If you love your guitar riffs and heartfelt power ballards, give Skid Row a listen! From the opening classic drumming of Youth Gone Wild, this album is one fantastic song after another. 18 & Life and I Remember You should be up there with the greatest metal ballards of the '90's. This takes songs from their two albums, plus a smattering of extras from over the years, together with a couple of live tracks thrown in for good measure. I have loved this band since my early teenage years, and never get tired of listening to their tunes, but unfortunatly they never seemed to gain the following of bands in the same genre such as Gun's n Rose's. Genre Heavy Metal / Hard Rock The band Sabastian Bach lead vocals Dave 'Snake' Sabo lead guitars Scotti Hill guitars Rachel Bolan bass guitar Rob Affuso drums Tracks Big Guns, Sweet Little Sister, Cant Stand The Heartache, Piece Of Me, 18 And Life, Rattle Snake Shake, Youth Gone Wild, Here I Am, Makin' A Mess, I Remember You and Midnight Tornado. Sabastian Bach the Canadian rocker nicknamed The Wolfman for his Wolf like growls, has a varied but excellent voice. When he can go from a wolfman growl to a sustained high pitch and hold the note without straining his vocal cords. Dave 'Snake' Sabo Played some excellent riffs on this great debut album. Advantages: Very wide variety of all types of metal
Disadvantages: many similar songs to those of other heavy metal albums

...I first got this album just as i was getting itno the more classic older type of metal, and it was actually this album which got me listening to hair metal and glam rock, even though its a heavy metal album. The tracks Youth gone wild by skid row and talk dirty to me by Poison are 2 great hair metal tracks, but thats just me. The band on this CD range from Poison to Megadeth with everything in between and if you like a wide variety of metal and hard rock I'd reccomend this album. With 20 tracks on the first disk and 16 tracks on the second there's loads of different bands if you're just discovering some of the hardesrt rawest metal songs ever made.... Read review
