Their biggest pop hits are included on this collection--"I'll Take You There," and "Respect Yourself"--as are some of their interpretations of other rock hits. You haven't heard the Band's song "The Weight" until you've heard the Staples harmonize on "Take a load off Annie." Yes, put your load right on here.--Robert Gordon

My local shop is built right in the city centre, but is still based around one of those 'warehousey' style designs rather just like those large out of town DIY places. As soon as you walk in to theh shop, you are greeted by floor to ceiling shelves with rows of goods on them all just waiting to be purchased by the awaiting British oublic. Of coure, in order to get to the higher stock it is best to ask a sales assistant to risk their own lives by climbing up on one of those rickety old ladders to reach that last carton of ink for you.
This leads me on to my next point, that being the one of staffing levels. Midweek staff are the usual 'oldies', that is those with a little bit more experience who have been doing the job for a while - maybe not at Staples, but have had more of that all round retail experience that ...

Advantages: Reasonable Prices, Speedy Delivery Disadvantages: None I could find
Some of you who read my reviews will probably know that I?m a homeopath (as well as having a day job!)!! So I have my own business, that business needs certain consumables (no, not all my health food ops!) I need paper for printing my invoices, I need cartridges for my printers, I need laminators etc.. (I?m sure the company I work for wouldn?t want to support my ?other? business, so I need to get all these items:-( As with most people, you have to work, so the opportunity to get out to the shops in nearly non-existent! Well this is where I shop!
** Who are they? **
Staples are a large company, specialising in things for the business. They do have shops dotted around the country; they have an on-line ordering business, and this mail-order business.
I have also been into Staples shops in the US!
** What?s the catalogue ...

Advantages: Hillarious film with Sandler and Barrymore. Disadvantages: None!
This was the first Adam Sandler film I ever watched when it first came out in 1998, I remember my sister having the film on VHS and we used to sit there watching it every time I stayed at her house. And ever since its been my all time favourite film.
The Plot:
The film is about a wedding singer Robbie, who is getting married himself, until his fiance breaks up with him on their wedding day, and dumps him at the alter...or just leaves him standing there more like. Robbie slumps into a deep depression, and even ends up giving up on his job, which he used to love.
Meanwhile, Julie, who Robbie met briefly before his failed wedding. Is engaged to Glenn, is ecstatic when he finally sets a date, and she gets to planning her wedding.
Julie and Robbie's friendship blossoms and Robbie slowly comes back around to weddings ...

Album Notes
The Staple Singers include: Roebuck "Pops" Staples (vocals, guitar); Mavis Staples (vocals); Yvonne Staples, Cleotha Staples (vocals). Includes liner notes by Lee Hildebrand. Digitally remastered by Joe Tarantino (1986, Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California). Of the many Staple Singers compilations, the 1986 set on the Stax label is the most concise overview of the brief period where the family group weren't just gospel superstars, but a regular presence on the pop and R&B charts. BEST OF THE STAPLE SINGERS includes all seven of the group's Top 40 hits between 1971 and 1974, including the Number One smash "I'll Take You There." (The group's second and final Number One single, the 1975 movie theme "Let's Do It Again," is not included, since it was recorded for Curtis Mayfield's Curtom label after Stax's dissolution.) Also included are a handful of the gospel showcases for lead singer Mavis Staples that first made the group's name, along with sanctified covers of Otis Redding's "(Sittin' on the) Dock of the Bay" and the Band's "The Weight." BEST OF THE STAPLE SINGERS is a basic, no-nonsense, 16-track overview that does the job for casual fans, but it will also serve as a springboard for those who wish to explore further into the group's enormous catalogue.
