When this album first came out i was a bit confused wheather to make my mind up about buying it. After seeing advertisments on the internet , i thought to myself "I am going to go out and buy this album and see the whole thing for myself!." , and i certianly was not dissapointed with some amazing tracks with some very thought - provoking lyrics...

Whitesnake has always been my dad's favourite group , and i thought "Why Not Give Them A Try" aswell.

Whitesnake are very well known , especially in the United Kingdom. They are well known because of their genre of the popular Hard Rock which i never thought my friends and i would like , but we certainly did , maybe you did to!.....

Whitesnake began songwriting and singing in the year of 1977 , with their founder "David Coverdale", who is currently one of the lead singers in the impressive group. The group of Whitesnake originated from Yorkshire, England .....
Now i think we're past the interesting facts !!!

1) Fool For Your Loving....

This song is my most favourite Whitesnake song of all time.
It has wonderful lyrics , and my favourite part of the song is the fantastic but sad chorus -

"So I can say it to you baby
I'll be a fool for your loving no more

Im so tired of trying, I always end up crying
Fool for your loving no more
I'll be a fool for your loving no more......"

This part of the song really makes me think hard about everything. It's just the speed , lyrics and the way the part of this part of the song is wondefully sang , just really makes me wonder....

This song last for 4 minutes and 15 seconds .... The song was actualy released in the year 1980 and it's still my all time Whitesnake favourite!!!!

Overall , i would rate this song 9/10. It has great lyrics , great background music , and it is sang perfectly well. This is a song that you should definitly listen to , because this song is so very unique. With the very quiet start becoming gradually louder , and then bursting into that hard rock genre and the overpowering voice of David Coverdale and the instrumental by the rest of Whitesnake really makes this such a fantastic listen!!

2. Don't Break My Heart Again

This song is another fantastic one.
My favourite part of the lyrics in this track is not the wonderfuly sang chorus this time , but is -

" Never hide the feeling inside,
And though Im standing my back to the wall
I know that even in a summer love
A little bit of rain must fall
But, every road I take I know
Where its gonna lead me to,
Because Ive travelled every highway
And they all keep coming back to you"....

This part of the song makes me think back in my life. "Every Road I Take" , really makes me think how many times i have dne things and i knew where it was going to get me!! Some good , some bad!...

Overall , i would most definitly rate this song a good old 6/10. It is one of the more weaker songs on the album , even though it usually matches my mood , but i feel that this song can get boring and the instruments like the guitar aren't as well played in this song as the others. Although this song has its brilliant lyrics , it still doesn't reach my expected standards , but that's only me talking!.

3. Love Ain't No Stranger

This song is absolutly amazing.
My favourite part of the song is the start where it sings -

"Who knows where the golden glows
I asked my friends but nobody knows
Who am i to believe in love
Love ain't no stranger" .....

These lyrics in this part of the song , right at the start makes me think mainly about my friends. It is a song more about love but i feel it helps me think about my close friends and if they are actualy one true friend!....

Also , this song is quite sad at the start and end which makes me think of my Nan who is very very ill , but this song helps express my thoughts through thinking about it!.

Overall , this song is getting an overall 8/10. It has wondeful lyrics right from the start. It is also very unique as the start is quiet and very relaxed unlike the rest of the hard rock type for the remainder of the track. This song is also quite interesting as at the start the atmosphere seems sad and depressing , until the rock gets into it and you think of the better things!!....

4. Is This Love

This must be love , it's got a hold on me ..."

What Thought-Provoking lyrics don't you agree?
This song is a very soft rock song. It seems more of an 80's wedding song or a very enjoyable love song. This is a great and more relaxing song performed by the amazing Whitesnake.

Overall , i would give this track a 7/10 because of it's uniqueness to the other songs. This was once a great top ten single of the 80's.!!

5. Now You're Gone

I have only just started to listen to this one a little bit more lately for some reason. It is another song quite similar to the beggining of "Is This Love" , but as we get into the song , that great rock beat comes back to us with great pace and the overpowering voice that makes this song so good.

"But Now You're Gone"
Theres an emptiness closing around me
And I can't go on
When all of my love has been taken "

That is my favourite part of the song as it reminds me when i loved someone special to me who left and i felt very lonely without them. It doesn't make me too upset about it because it is quite a positive song.

Overall , this song will get an 8/10 as it helps me think of the good times my friend and i had together ....
This was also another top ten 80's hit!!!...

6. Give Me All Your Love

This song is sang very well. The lyrics are very impressive , like all of the songs. My favourite part of the song is ...

"I couldn't stop myself from reaching out
I could not turn away "

This small part of the song at the start just makes me think about when i liked someone when i knew we would just get along , and i just could not turn away and not bother. We then got close after i had the confidence. When i hear this song , the first thing i think of is my memories , but also the 80's. This song is just so original from the 80's which i absolutely love!!

Overall , i would rate this song an 8/10. Great lyrics , well sang and well thought out , and it also gives me happy memories of my friends and I , which can cheer me up ....

7. Ready An' Waiting

I found this song quite boring for some reason.
It is a flat song , good lyrics , but it didn't impress me as much as the other songs... It is also a shorter song compared to the others. It is 3 minutes and 43 seconds long.....

Overall , this song would get a 4/10. I feel that this song is sang well and the lyrics are good , but it can get very boring and may sound a little dissapointing to the rest of the Whitesnake tracks....

8. Guilty Of Love

This is a good song. I always listen to this song when i am in a good mood , because it matches my happy mood , as the track is very cheery and quircky. It is another fast song , but not as heavy in the rock genre department.

My favourite part of this fantastic song is...

Don't You Turn Your Back On Me"

This part of the song reminds me of an arguament that me and someone close to me had , but we overcome it. You may think it would be wrong song to associate with an arguament but we were laughing about it after , a silly arguament witch didn't affect us , and we both agree that this is the song we have....

Overall , this song would get an 8/10. For it's cheeriness and the memories i get from it , i do also get good memoires from this speedy , quircky like song...
This song is 3 minutes and 20 seconds long. Another short one ...

9. Would I Lie To You

This is another cheery sort of quircky song. The instruments are very well played in this song , incuding the guitar and the drums.
The song is also sang very well , and has a very good pace.
This Is The Quircky Chorus -

I Would Do Anything You Want Me
To , But Would I Lie To You!?"

There is part of the song. The chorus is my favourite part in the lyrics because it reminds me of when my friend and i had an arguament because they thought i was lying , and i felt like singing this song to them....

Overall , i would give this a fairly good 7/10. The lyrics are a little poorer in this song , and it seems very boring after listening to it over and over again. I wouldn't recomend you listen to this track for too long , you may find that it really begins to bore the socks off of you! I still like the song and the atmosphere it creates...

10. Long Way From Home

Now this is where the music starts to get better after the last few. This song is a really calm song with very good backing vocals throughout. The lyrics are flawless , and the instrumental is wonderful. A Lot of passion has went into this song.

" It's a long long way from home
And I don't know what i'm going to do"

That is only a small part of the enjoyable chorus.
The whole song seems to be in major key , but you could think of it as a minor song , everyone has their own opinion which is fantastic! But you are bound to like this song!!!....

Overall , i would give this song a rate of 8/10. It makes me think of the good and the bad things when i need to , and it is a very calm song that i like to listen to. I listened to this when i was away from home , when i went on holiday this year. It was very nice to think about it , and my mood really matched with this wonderfully lyriced song!! Thats why i really like it , a very well deserved 8/10...

11. The Deeper The Love

This song is another good one.
It is another calm , soft rock song from Whitesnake , but again it is very good for relaxing and thinking about the good or the bad times , which is why i like the band so much!.

And The Deeper The Love
The Deeper The Emotion "

These lyrics are very strong at thinking about how close you are to someone. They are keeping you warm , looking over your shoulder with you , and how they show their love for you.

Overall , this song really deserves a 9/10. It is such a passionate song with a lot of heart put in , and exedingly strong emotion.
It is lyriced fantasticly , and sang awfully well!!!!....
The song runs for 4.20 minutes of pure rock time!...

12. Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City

This great song starts of with the electric guitar and David Coverdale's powerful voice.
This trackt is not a very heavy rock song until it picks up from the start...

This song is a really impressive , slower rock song with great vocals and instruments being used.

The lyrics in this song are very thought - provoking , but i do feel that they aren't as strong as the others. This song reminds me of when i lost someone i loved , and there was no love to have between us.... A great song though no doubt!!...

13. Too Many Tears...

This song reminds me of a late 80's country song or an 80's love song... It reminds me of these types of songs because of the slow paced rythm and the sort of lyrics you would find on a country program...

I don't really have any favourite lyrics in this song , but you just can't have

"Too Many Tears"

This song always reminds me of when my close friend moved away and "Remember What We Had Together" reminds me of the good times we did have together.
You can never have Too Many Tears....
The rate for this song would be a 4/10.

Even though this song reminds me of the good times , but Whitesnakes other songs are in a lot more quality than this song.

The lyrics are not very impressive this time round , and the music i too slow and just doesn't feel like the Whitesnake sensation....
Unfortunetly , this song runs for 5.48 minutes.....

14. Give Me More Time

The start of the song is quieter than the rest of the heavy rock and guitar sounding track....
I really like this song because i feel that Whitesnake have put a lot of passion into this song , as well as some of the others.
The singing is great , you can never get too bored of these voices or this song.

This song is quite happily sang , and it puts me into a really good mood.

This song doesn't really remind me of anything much , but i do like listening to it as i don't really get bored of it because the song is slightly different after each chorus....

Overall , this song would get a 7/10 , as it is very impressive with it's choice of instruments and it has a great backing tune....
This is another song that you should listen to when you need cheering up , or if you are still in a good mood!!!...

15. Standing In The Shadow

This song is another one of my favourites. The lyrics are great and the way the song is sung is fantastic , with the perfect guitar, voice and drumkit sounds use , this song is absolutley one of my all time Whitesnake favourites.

" Too Many People

This song reminds me of people when they have a relaionship , and theres two people who don't have any relationship with each other , until they become a couple...
Kind of a strange story but hey , everyone has an opinion....

Overall ,this song would get a 7/10.
I really like the guitar played in this song. It is in perfect timing , perfect tuning , and the heavy rock comes right back into this wondeful song.

This is another one of my all time Whitsnake tracks.
A definite listen to!!!

Sadly , this song is a short one , 3.31 minutes!!
But i always play it over and over again....

16. ==Here I Go Again==

This track has a really different start. A keyboard sounding instrument with a back tingling sensation makes the start of the song unique to the others. The voice starts of quite queitly , but later on the rock comes back into it with the powerful Whitesnake voice!...

Here I Goooooo"

Classic. As you can tell by the second "Go" in the lyrics qoute , the powerful voice of David Coverale returns back , completely different to the start of the song. This song reminds me of when i had to have the confidence of doing something hard , on my own!
I learnt from this , and after i knew i could do it....
Another enjoyable song , but not the best....

Overall , this song gets a 6/10. It isn't the the best song , but it has some great lyrics , and backing use and the voices are sublime. Then again , it is a slower more boring song after you have listened to it a few times over...
This song runs for 4.37 minutes , another long track!!!...

17. Still Of The Night

Now we have come to the final song on the album!!!...
Whitesnake leave us with one great whopper of a heavy metal rock song. The lyrics are so well and strongly sung , and passionatly...

" In the heat of the day
I hang my head down low
And hide my face from the sun
Through the light of the day
Until the evening time
I'm waiting for the night to come"

This part of the song makes me think of the time when i was shy of something so i kept my head down low, but then later realised(like the night in this song) that i was brave enough to do something with it!....

Listening to this song really makes me think well about myself for the stated reason , and being brave enough.
Although this song is quite sad, it still makes me happy!!!...

Overall , this song is getting an 9/10.
It is a really great choice for the last song featured on this brilliant album. It goes from sad to happy and back again. A lot is discovered in this song with those wonderful lyrics!!!...
This song also runs for 6.30 minutes , what a length of a song to finish the album off!!...

My Overall Opinion -

There are some superb tracks on this album. I have been listening to Whitesnake for a while now , and i have really thought that the group have been really succesful and commited to their passion. I mean , there aren't hundreds of groups like these that were originally from the 80's who still sing wonderful songs. When i hear Whitesnake and when i hear Black Sabbath , i feel that these two amazing groups sound quite alike. Which may be the fact that David Coverdale was part of Black Sabbath for a while then joined with Whitesnake to make some amazing music. I truely don't think that there will be anyone or any group thatwill sound like Whitesnake ever! , but if there is i will be very shocked because Whitesnake are simply out of this world!!!...

Now this is why you should buy this album -

If you buy this album , you will relive so many memories. The voices , the lyrics awaken those good or bad memories from years agoand the feeling can be amazing or maybe uncomfortable , but either way it is such a feeling that i never thought i would get through music. I feel that these songs on this album are like a journey. When i hear them , i think back in my life like a journey back in time...

Very strange i know but that's how i feel , it's so strange but just so intreiging... I don't how you will feel , but this album is definitly worth a try!!...

You can buy this album from anywhere that sells wonderful albums like these. My father bought this album from HMV which is my most favourite store. You can also purchase this album from Amazon or maybe even eBay!!!

You can even donwload this album from iTunes for a few pounds , but all is worth it , believe me!!

The album cover is a dark purple with the writing "The Best Of Whitesnake". It has the picture of a Whitesnake inside where the CD is placed with a black background , i find this album art really interesting!!

Whatever the way you buy this album , you WON'T be dissapointed..
