Advantages: Deeply poetic, rich musical excellence. It's Kate Bush. Disadvantages: Not instant music for parties. It wouldn't work. Don't do it.

So, I'm in France with a gorgeous girlfriend with Kate warbling, 'Ai ai! Babooshka, Babooshka, yi, yi!' on the jukebox and I'm just having a great 1982. Something of Kate Bush is imprinted and stays with me, and though singles like, 'Cloudbusting,' and albums like 'Red Shoes,' pass me by un-noticed as the years fly by, the mad-eyed girl who sang of 'Wuthering, Wuthering, Wuthering Heights!' never entirely goes away.

Advantages: quality through and through Disadvantages: if you don't like Kate Bush you won't like it!

"The Wedding Dance of the Widow Bride" is the second in his planned trilogy of klezmer-inspired collections ("Whisky Rabbi" is the first) and the ten tracks on the album follow the theme of love and marriage - with Berner's distinctive and slightly off-centre slant on things.
"Good luck now" is vibrant opener and really demonstrated the links between the Jewish and Roma strands that comprise klezmermusic. It also introduces us the the recurring theme of the album and what makes Berner tick - his Jewishness.
"I'm internationally recognised
As a really lucky guy.
Everybody knows that I'm
The Lucky Goddam Jew"
