Advantages: All of it Disadvantages: None of it
...Think of Steve Harley and what do you think of? I would have a pretty safe bet that you would say 'Make me Smile' or even 'judy Teen'.
Of course the great man has done other stuff since 'Sebastian' impressed the continent all those years ago but the album 'Quality of Mercy' is the first for twenty six years, and is worth waiting for.
And what an album it is.
The first track, 'The last Goodbye' was also released as a single later on in the year but with little success although I'm sure Steve's fan base shot out to their local music shop to buy it. It is a jaunty tune penned by himself and Jim Cregan.
'Journey's End' ( A Father's Promise') speaks for itself, written in Steve's unique narrative style, moving as ever and uplifting.
Following that,' Saturday Night at the Fair' is a lively love song about an established relationship...

Family were one of the best progressive acts of the late 60's / early 70's - witness their astonishing "Music In A Doll's House" LP for proof - so all the ingredients were here for the new band to make it big. Advantages: A lot of great tracks in one place Disadvantages: Some tracks you may not like
...Whilst in Blackpool earlier this year I was in one of these music shops you know the ones which sell all the older music as opposed to HMV etc who sell up to date stuff.
I came across this one No 1 hits of 70s it is a very retro style cover as it is brown circles with the figure one in white and other writing in black.
The 70s were a great decade for funky disco music, glam rock etc.
I know there are a lot of this sort of CDs on the market and to be honest many of them hold the same tracks but for £3.99 it was a bargain buy for me.
