...too deadly near This precipitous weir to Hell's high gate ' This album is avalible to buy from many music shops such as HMV and Virgin Megastores for about £9.99. A great buy, I really enjoyed this album (and some of the previous) and listen to them all the time. I can't wait for 'Thornography'. Even if your not a Cradle of Filth fan i would still recommend you at least have a listen to this album. I didn't use to be a Cradle fan before this album. It has also intorduced me to some awesome songs that were made before this album! Not only beautiful, but bestial in it's wide ranging scope. Not only was "Anthems.." featured in almost every "album of the year poll" across the globe, but actually won the album of the year in both Terrorizer (UK) and Metal Maniacs (USA). Advantages: Legendary & Innovative album from Black Metal pioneers
Disadvantages: Tame and simple by today's standards

...Of Darkness and Evil' and 'Bestial Lust', showing Bathory's knack for writing memorable, instantly classic songs. The album's production is somewhat lo-fi and rough (although nowhere near the abrasively raw sound quality of many contemporary Black Metal albums.) but the instruments maintain their clarity and the whole band can be heard. The rough edges even serve to add a lot to the overall ambience and character of the album. Whilst obviously not to everyone's liking (particularly those who prefer their music with exceptional playing and polished sound quality) I highly recommend this album to all Metal fans. 10 out of 10....
