It Rocks Review ofNumber Of The Beast, The [ECD] - Iron Maidenby

Advantages: Energy, impassioned lyrics. Disadvantages: I guess there's a track or two which aren't as good as the others.
...If you are only going to buy one Iron Maiden Album, make it this one. It's got everything you could ask for; pounding bass lines, galloping drum beats, ear piercing gitar riffs, satanic lyrics and - above all- collosal energy. The vocals seem to have been inspired by issues that perhaps only the rage of heavy metal can do honest justice; the fear of execution, escape from the Powers That Be, flight from murderous barbarian hordes, the terrorism of European settlers on native American Indians, and - of course - satanic orgies. Advantages: Presentation, Good balance of beauty and menace Disadvantages: Occasional lack of originality
...Having first heard of these Taiwan Black Metallers in the pages of Terrorizer magazine i decided to check the album out! It does not disappoint - Brutal metal riffing combined with luscious synths and strings and some very impressive gutteral vocals counter balanced with some melodic female passages!
The production is good throughout without ever being saccharine. Ideas flow thick and fast without overstaying their welcome and although sometimes lacking in originality there is good enough scope and variety to keep listening!
The artwork really captures the mood of the music and is impeccibaly designed and laid out!
The only real down side to this otherwise impressive release is the aforementioned lack of originality that occasionally creeps in!
One for fans of Dimmu Borgir, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth etc...

This isn't just the finest Black Metal CD ever made, its one of the finest records ever made by anybody,..."Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk," an album of epic savagery! Not only beautiful, but bestial in it's wide ranging scope. Not only was "Anthems.." featured in almost every "album of the year poll" across the globe, but actually won the album of the year in both Terrorizer (UK) and Metal Maniacs (USA).
AL SVARTR (THE OATH) Quite an evil sounding intro
YE ENTRANCEMPERIUM, Very fast song, very well constructed, nice !!
THUS SPAKE THE NIGHTSPIRIT, My personal fav, starts off slow then into shear hell with evil sounding keybords, at the end slows down...
