Advantages: Brilliant, thoughtful folk music Disadvantages: Could be seen as too one-note, musically.
...James Yorkston – Just Beyond The River
James Yorkston’s second album picks up where the first left off, inviting the listener into his world without making it to easy for them: this is music you wave to work for, and all the more satisfying because of that.
If there’s one thing Yorkston’s good at, it’s picking collaborators. Here it’s Kieran Hebdon, once of post-rockers Fridge and now working successfully under the moniker Four Tet, where his has previously mixed electronica and acoustic instruments to devastatingly effective results. Advantages: OK if you like Brother Beyond Disadvantages: Perhaps a bit limited in scope
...The Very Best of Brother Beyond
The Very Best of Brother Beyond might seem to be a contradiction in terms for the cynical. But, there's more to Brother Beyond than you might at first suspect.
The tracks on this CD are:
The Harder I Try.
He Ain't No Competition
Be My Twin
Can You Keep a Secret?
How Many Times?
Chain-Gang Smile
Drive On
When will I See You Again
Trust
The Girl I Used To Know
I Should Have Lied
Act For Love
The Harder I Try (12" version)
Drive On (Apple Mix)
Be My Twin (12" version)
Can You Keep a Secret (89 extended mix)
He Ain't No Competition (12" version)

A cardboard sleeve then covers the metal case, on the back: the tracklisting and on the front: a cool modern art inspired cover which is different for every release. The presentation is second to none.
Now to the cd...writing about a mix cd is a lot different from writing about an artist album. The mix is just as important as the song itself. The "mix" being the dj merging the two songs together wether...
