Review of Bhangra Beatz - Various Artists by majidali

Advantages: big artist names
Disadvantages: some rubbish traks

...i have heard this album several times and i have enjoyed it a lot. it has got a large range of tracks such as Gora Chitta Wrang Umbhi Nukhe Chakhee Javana Gem Song Tappe Ambersaria Bhangra Paa Kina Sona Ena Akian Veh Sajna Yaada Boliyan Westworld Mirza (Here I Come Junglist) this album has got artists suck as jazzy b and sukshinder shinda. my favourite track was yaada because i enjoy laid bak traks. for me this is a good album but not great because i thought some traks were rubbish. however i would recomend to potential buyers if the prize is right. You mabe put of by the cover because it is quite dull but is professional. for me this album is in my top 30 as i listen to it every other day.... Read review

Perfect, luxurious chillout
Review of Richest Man In Babylon, The - Thievery Corporation by king_goonie

Advantages: Original, multi-cultural tunes and exotic interludes
Disadvantages: Occasionally sounds repetitive, bland product design

...not to appeal to anyone. The Richest Man In Babylon is, in my opinion, one of their best offerings. Rolling Stone gave it 4 out of 5 stars, and for me this still doesn't justify how good this album is. It features live instrumentation, and incorporates the diverse voices of various artists from many countries - including Iceland's Emiliana Torrini and various jamaican rappers. The album is arranged meticulously. It's dreamlike opening track "Heaven's Gonna Burn Your Eyes" (perfect relaxing music) drifts into more upbeat tracks such as "Meu Destino" and "Liberation Front" (reminiscent of sexy 60's tunes). Best listened to late in the evening, or on a hazy summer day, the album's main influence is Indian music; exotic traditonal melodies, as well as heavier tribal bhangra. Tracks such as "Facing East", "Interlude" and "Exile" all feature Indian... Read review
