Advantages: Another vital step on the ladder of Fleetwood Mac history Disadvantages: First album recorded after the departure of Peter Green, that could be good or bad
...In amongst the fog filled hazes of the memorable departure of future blues legend, Peter Green, a weary, long haired, messy looking band wondered along what road the next era of Fleetwood Mac would take them.
Since the infancy of FM had been a disillusionment of lost days due to too much booze, it was any wonder how one of the greatest world wide rock bands ever got off the ground. Since all the original members of the band had once been members of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers who had either left or been fired, what was left standing were the off cuts of a rapidly growing Blues scene in the bohemian underworld of late Sixties British youth culture. After sharing old camper vans with the smells and skills of such gangling musicians as Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor and Rod Stewart, the unique phenomena must have somehow rubbed off...

Advantages: Catchy party tunes that make you smile Disadvantages: They helped create the Cheesy pop images of today
...Abba are the band where cheese originated from in my opinion. They produced good dance tracks in their days which were great for dancing too - hence, Dancing Queen. But as Abba became a legend these days people call their music cheesy pop. All I can say is that in teir days Abba were a great band who produced some of the best music of their era. So much so that their music is still played in clubs and pubs up and down the country. They also have many followers still and bands that play tribute to them it must show them that they were popular then and still are now. My favourite Abba tune is Money Money Money. Many of their songs keep on being re-released by up and coming artists of today, so they are becoming back in fashion.
Long live Abba!!!!...

Advantages: Great range of guitar styles and songs Disadvantages: Missing some key guitar players
...Wow!
What a way to start. "Now I'm here" really rocks you into what could be your most riffing couple of hours ever. Then again, it could simply be a few bars short of your perfect solo where this compilation does seem to miss out on a few key factors that would make up its point.
Nevertheless, Queen are probably just about the best band Capital Gold could have used to blast this album into full swing. It sets you up a real treat, as at least six of the next seven songs of the first CD are essential to the make up of any attempted guitaring compilation. "Layla", "Walk this Way", "Since You've Been Gone", "Smoke on the Water", and "Ace of Spades" are included in this guantlet. I can assure you that no expense was spared ont his introduction to such a task .
However, after track eight, the consistency of the superly - known, legendary...
