Review of Chase This Light - Jimmy Eat World by quiche_nufc

Advantages: somebodys blues
Disadvantages: yes its typical but they are gooood

...ok this is similar to past albums but still its an improvement because they are amazing i wouldnt say they are my favourite band but they are one of. jimmy eat world are a rock / pop punk/ emo kind of band. fans are usually into Motion city soundtrack / fall out boy / you me at six ect. a few of the songs seem to have the same tune but all of the songs are very catchy and i cant stop playing it after about 2 monthes of having it. one of the songs that really surprised me on the album was somebody's blues. i found this song very touching and it is quite slow. i particulalry like this band and this album because every song has a good meaning to it. the songs on the album are - Big Casino Let It Happen Always Be Carry You Electable (Give It Up) Gotta Be Somebody's Blues Feeling Lucky Here It Goes Chase This Light Firefight Dizzy Yes... Jim Adkins and Co. do it again
Review of Chase This Light - Jimmy Eat World by RicME85

Advantages: Bouncy and energetic
Disadvantages: How can there be? Its Jimmy Eat World

...Do bands need to evolve? Do bands really need to push the boundaries with every album? Not if your Jimmy Eat World. Some might say they just churn out the same old stuff each year but I say why change a good thing? Jimmy Eat World are kings at producing bouncy, easy to listen to music and this album is no different. From the moment you put the cd in the player and press play you are greeted by typical Jimmy Eat World sounds. Chase This Light picks up from where Futures left off. Its another fantasically easy to listen album whilst exercising, tidying, whatever. It sure helps get through your chores! The album debuted at number five on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling about 62,000 copies in its first week just showing their growing popularity. With each studio albumit has grown and grown, yes probably spurned... Read review

10 Great Songs And a more than OK voice!
Review of Ten Great Songs And An OK Voice - Jimmy Nail by etala

Advantages: Down to earth and you'll recognise the songs!
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little too simple and a little contrived.

..., 10 well known songs, (a lot of them with a Geordie connection) and Jimmy's "OK" voice giving them some very different interpretations. Certainly Jimmy makes a great effort to cover many and varied styles within the ten songs and in general manages a pretty good job. In fact this for me is the only real problem with the album as sometimes it has a slightly contrived feel, as if they all sat down around a table with a list of song styles and tried to cover as many as possible. Highlights of the album include a lovely Country and Western version of "Overjoyed", the Lindisfarne classic "Clear White Light" (probably the song most like its original), the big band sound of "Walking on the Moon" and the upbeat rock of "Once in a Lifetime" Songs that don't quite do it for me are the a cappella of "Love me like a Rock" and the almost gothic...
