...The Glenn Miller Orchestra UK was founded by Ray McVay in the 80's . This was done after talks with the Glenn Miller Estate, who had listened to many of Ray McVay's tracks. Who is Ray McVay? Ray McVay was born in the late 30's in Scotland. He became a professional musician at the tender age of 13 as a rocking sax player. In the 50's he became a music director for many big names such as Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Conway Twitty and Billy Fury. As Rays name got bigger and better known in the music industry, and fronted his own show band known as the Ray McVay Orchestra. He started to play for the Mecca Organization playing around the country before headlining at Mecca's big venue, the Lyceum Ballroom in London's west end.. ...The Brian Setzer Orchestra : Boogie Woogie Christmas Background Information: Brian Setzer is a superbly talented singer and guitarist, better known in the USA, but renowned across Europe and Japan. He originally had success with The Stray Cats - a rockabilly trio in the 1980s. Since then Brian has fronted many projects. He has also written material for films such as Jingle all the Way, Me Myself and Irene and the Aristocats. In 1994 Brian formed The Brian Setzer Orchestra - a Swing / Rock n Roll style with the backing of a 17 piece Big Band Orchestra. ...Metallica, the men, the myths, the legends. Ever think that you would here a band of such sorts playing with a symphony orchestra? Well? Why are you laughing? This CD is just that and so much more. Metallica perform some of their greatest tracks with a symphony orchestra playing with them right behind them! An idea that many would shrug off and say it would never work. Well when you hear this you will be thinking again, trust me. There truly is nothing quite like this and has to be heard to be believed. Even the heaviest Metallica songs make it to the album, songs such as 'Master of puppets' and 'The call of Ktulu' all with a sympony orchestra chucked in for good measure.
