Big Bang - Heavy Pettin'

Advantages: Excellent songs all round, all killer, no filler, epic songs. 'Sonne'
Disadvantages: Not enough songs, only 11 tracks.

...of all time, in English it says: One, here comes the sun. Two, here comes the sun. Three, she is the brightest star of them all. Four here comes the sun. Ok it sounds basic lyrically but it’s a stunning piece of music. The bridge is a depressing/dark piece with only strings and drums that’s leads us onto another round of the chorus. You simply have to hear this song, it was the first single and it’s easy to see why, stunning song! The big question is can it get any better, well yes and no. ‘ICH WILL’ follows Sonne up with another slightly heavier tone, it’s not quite as good as Sonne, but it’s still an excellent song! It features another head banging riff, with some extremely loud drumming and dark menacing vocals that only six Germans could manage, ‘ Ich will’ has a great sound as the chorus rattles in amidst the pounding drums... ...After listening to Bullet For My Valentine's self-titled EP containing Hand of Blood and Just Another Star it was clear that they were going to be big. Waiting for this debut album built up huge expectation and the lads from Wales didnt disappoint. Every track brings something special to the album and its no suprise they won Best UK Newcomers at the 2005 Kerrang! Awards. I did however name track 1 as my biggest disappointment of the album....its just not what i wanted to hear when i got home and banged the cd on. As soon as Her Voice Resides kicks in though it makes the album...that scream is the start of the next 50mins of your life. Every track is different but similar in a way only Bullet could manage...ending with the sublime track The End...a brilliant conclusion to a superb album The obvious choice for any rock/heavy metal... Advantages: Its new, original and very very raw!
Disadvantages: Its a bit...technoish!

...This album is quite possibly one of the most varied in terms of its music styles. Its mostly very heavy and likely to make you very angry or at the least make you feel very empowered! Its been on sale since 1994...so it MUST be good! "Rammstein" is heavy, dark and quite repetative but that isnt a bad thing. You have a good rythm to bang your head to! "Seeman" on the other hand can be calm and gentle one minute...almost romantic but then hit you with the guitars and the drums and you're back to being on top of the world, feeling you can do anything and feeling strong! Its actually a very beautiful song...almost classical in parts. "Du Riechts so Gut" is more techno than some of their other music but with the rock element as well. The video is purculiar tho for the original versian (lots of flowers!). These are only 3 songs... Read review
