...The Glenn Miller Orchestra UK was founded by Ray McVay in the 80's . This was done after talks with the Glenn Miller Estate, who had listened to many of Ray McVay's tracks.
Who is Ray McVay?
Ray McVay was born in the late 30's in Scotland. He became a professional musician at the tender age of 13 as a rocking sax player. In the 50's he became a music director for many big names such as Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Conway Twitty and Billy Fury.
As Rays name got bigger and better known in the music industry, and fronted his own show band known as the Ray McVay Orchestra. He started to play for the Mecca Organization playing around the country before headlining at Mecca's big venue, the Lyceum Ballroom in London's west end.. ...Gene Simmons' entry into the solo album releases of 1978 was a bit of a mixed bag. Coming fromGene, you would have expected to hear an album full of evil and seduction. For the most part, this is quite untrue. He delivers an album that traces his interests in music from the beginning and also his personal thoughts on life itself.
'When You Upon A Star' may seem a very strange song to cover, but Gene, it summed up everyone's hopes. The beginning of the album is quite demonic and in the vain of the Exorcist in a way. This peters out and goes into his top40 hit single 'Radioactive' - a very catchy number.
Gene then goes through verious phases, from the Beatles to heavy-funk crossover, something quite revolutionary for that time. A cover of 'See You In Your Dreams' from Kiss' Rock and Roll Over album makes us think that he wasn...

Advantages: Very reasonable price, good variety Disadvantages: Hard to get hold of!
...for a variety of listeners. If you have an interest in one particular programme, it is easy to get hold of a soundtrack. However, CD's like this which have a variety aren't regularly released, so this CD is brilliant. Having such a collection of tunes ranging from main titles to character's themes, I enjoy every moment. The tracks themselves are:
