I decided to purchase this little number due to my obsession with all things Bill and Ted, and after watching the film, i noticed that there were some choice tunes.
The album as a whole is pretty good and reminds you of scenes from the film, which is always a good thing.

Kicking off with Shout it Out by Slaugter, this is a stomping track and a great opener.
Any soundtrack that has Battle Stations by Winger gets top marks in my book. It is a total ... ...achieve your goals, just like Bill S Preston and Ted Theodore Logan did eventually in the film.
Other fantastic tracks include Go to Hell by Megadeth, from the scene where evil robot Bill and Ted kill good Bill and Ted by throwing them off the cliff. This is a classic megadeth track, with the familiar sneering vocals of Dave Mustaine and fast thrash guitar playing.

Any soundtrack that has Battle Stations by Winger gets top marks in my book. It is a total rock anthem about using your guitar as a weapon - "Six-string shooter, hear it screaming, Slicing your head like a laser beam."
The main song from the film is obviously God gave Rock and Roll to you by Kiss, although originally by Argent. Even though it is slightly cheesy, it is one of their biggest hits. It is a completely feelgood track, with the message being work hard to achieve your goals, just like Bill S Preston and Ted Theodore Logan did eventually in the film.
The Perfect Crime by Faith no More is a previously unreleased track, available only on this soundtrack. I must admit that this was quite a pull for me buying this album given the fact I am a big Faith No More fan. It is a great track to own too, with beautiful guitar work provided by Jim Martin, who also features in the film and the outstanding vocals of Mike Patton.
Then there's Tommy the Cat by Primus, one of those tracks you either love or hate. It has fast spoken vocals played over fast drumming and a funky bassline.
The album finishes with the Reaper Rap, which is dialogue from the film over some nifty guitar work provided by the axe master Steve Vai. A great finish.
The other tracks on the album are quite mediocre in my opinion. They fit in well with the film, being american big hair rock and just blending into the background. However, as tracks on an album they don't really stand out. I bought this album for about six quid from a well known high-street retailer, so i think to have 7 amazing tracks out of 12 is good value for money, and even the other tracks are listenable.
Tracks listing:
1.Shout It Out - Slaughter 2.Battle Stations - Winger 3.God Gave Rock And Roll To You II - Kiss 4.Drinking Again - Neverland 5.Dream Of A New Day - Richie Kotzen 6.The Reaper - Steve Vai 7.The Perfect Crime - Faith No More 8.Go To Hell - Megadeth 9.Tommy The Cat - Primus 10.Junior's Gone Wild - King's X 11.Showdown - Love On Ice1 12.The Reaper Rap - Steve Vai
