If you heard the vocals on their own, you'd expect Billy Talent to be your average emo/screamo band. His high-pitched screams fill the album with his heartfelt lyrics.
But vocals are nothing without a good backing, and that's what Billy Talent excel in also. Ian D'Sa has gone against the average power chord structured riffs that are seen in most pop-punk at the moment and has used his own experience from when Billy Talent were more funky and known as "Pezz". With this he gets different and fresh sounds- the only downside is sometimes they become a bit similar.
Stand Out Tracks- This Is How It Goes, Try Honesty, Line & Sinker, RIver Below, Nothing To Lose
The only real weak song is Lies, which I personally don't like. It's the rythm of it which puts me off, however many fans love it.

Advantages: Great songs with original sounding vocals! Disadvantages: Would possibly only appeal to people interested in the rock/punk/emo styles of music
