Billy Talent is a successful Canadian rock band that formed in Mississauga, Ontario back in 1993. In Canada the bands 'Billy Talent' album is classified triple platinum whilst this 'Billy Talent II' album double platinum. Both albums from the band have been excellent, I personally am a huge fan of each of these releases and for a long time now have been following the progression of this fantastic Canadian band. The music is hard hitting and always it is hugely impressive as Billy Talent here blast their way through this exciting 'Billy Talent II' album.
It all begins with 'Devil in a Midnight Mass', a fiery track of epic proportions and one that I feel starts the album sensationally. Not once does the music on this album disappoint, from start to finish never is the music of Billy Talent anything short of sensational. Tracks such as 'Red Flag' and 'Surrender' impress hugely and not once does the music fail to
ignite. Such energy is contained within this album, a high level of enthusiasm is here expressed by the great band that is Billy Talent.
'Surrender' is actually one of the slower paced tracks from this release, it's without doubt one of the finest however and does contain its fair share of bite. The track is catchy, the vocals are excellent, and always it is instrumentally exceptional. Few bands can impress me quite so much as Billy Talent can. All members of this band are hugely talented I feel and given that the band has been together since 1993 it is no wonder that all four of the bands members play so well together. Billy Talent is an extremely tight unit, a group of musicians that plays perfectly together and always entertains with some extremely well produced and finely created rock music.
The chorus of 'Red Flag' has to be my favourite of all on this album. It is greatly fiery and every element of the music here comes together to perfection in order to provide for me the highlight of this release. 'Billy Talent II' is an excellent album and there are many fine tracks but for me this track stands out more so than any other. 'Red Flag' is a fine piece of music, right from the very first time I heard it I loved this one and never have I grown tired of it. I don't think I shall ever cease to enjoy this track, or any of those present on this album in fact; all of the music on this album impresses me greatly and never does Billy Talent here put a foot wrong as a band.
'Burn The Evidence' ends this album on a high, yet another fiery offering of music from the band and a track that does nothing but impress me. As ever the chorus is absolutely fantastic and the music here is an absolute joy to listen to. Closing tracks are extremely important to me on albums, always they have to be perfect and it must be said that 'Burn The Evidence' isn't far from it. It's extremely hard hitting, instantly it grabs your attention and not once does it let go. It'd be hard to listen to 'Burn The Evidence' without finding yourself to be highly impressed I feel, the music is just so exquisite and in my opinion this is perhaps one of the finest closing tracks there is.
Although titled 'Billy Talent II', this is actually the third album to have been released by this band albeit their second as a major label artist. It's an excellent display of rock which combines magnificently the genres of alternative rock and post-hardcore. The music is fiery, the vocals are superbly sung and never once in the albums 47 minute run time do I ever find myself to be anything but entirely impressed. Billy Talent is an inspirational rock band, the first track I ever heard of theirs was 'The Ex' which featured on the 'Billy Talent' album and since then I have had nothing but love for this band. The music is full of energy and always extremely fun, to tell you the truth I can't recommend this 'Billy Talent II' album highly enough. In my opinion this is one of the best albums that has ever been released in its genre, thirteen tracks are here contained of absolute aural excellence.
