Advantages: Charlie Parker of course. Disadvantages: None.
..., lovely smooth key changes. Not sure who the trumpet player is, I supect DizzyGillespie, it is superb and he goes head to head with Parker.
3. Groovin High
Much more edgy from Parker, using more register jumps and very much in keeping with the drummer. I would imagine this was (as is) ultra cool at the time.
4. Hot House
Great drum solo starts us off then in comes Charlie with a horn full of sharps and quirky key changes, sticking very much to the high notes, this is the Parker I like, doing his own thing. Up and down the sacles and arpeggios, seemingly at will, brilliant.
5. Be Bop a Lula
Ah! I hear you cry, now I know where the 'other' song has it's roots, this aint the rock n roll version. This is sheer bebop, incredibly fast piano playing matched by parkers playing. Disjointed, quirky and sublime.
6. Crazeology

Advantages: amazing interpretation of a classical piece Disadvantages: Let me think about that.....hmmmmmm...........aaaaaaaaa...no
...What in the world is wrong with me anyway? I keep promising to myself that I will stop giving conventional characterizations of jazz greats, but I can't help it, something is pushing me. So what I decided to do? A Miles review(Let's give a warm applause to the idiot). Thank you guys I appreciate it. All right, first of all who this Miles something guy is supposed to be.
Well Miles Davis, and here is where I start the conventional staff, is probably the jazz guy that actually invented the most styles in jazz than any other guy. All right CharlieParker and Gizzy Gillespie invented be-bop, John Coltrane modal jazz but do you want hear what Miles invented? Cool jazz, jazz-rock, fusion, commercial jazz. Not bad for a trumpet player(sorry trumpeteers). Not to mention the people that he has shared stage with: CharlieParker, DizzyGillespie...

Advantages: Hard Bop excellence Disadvantages: none
...The first two tracks offer a blistering hard bop frenzy. I would pay a full album price just for "eternal triangle", track number two. Sonny Stitt and Rollins complement each other very well and the contrast from Dizzy really pushes this albulm along. This is probably my favourite album at the moment.
Sonny Side up is a great upbeat start to the album with some really lovely solos form all three and cool singing from dizzy.
The Eternal triangle is a composition by sonny Stitt and it's where the record really takes off. The two tenors start trying to outdo each other and it just builds and builds. This is my favourite track - truely breathtaking.
After Hours is a bluesy track with some nice piano.
I kno that you know finishes off nicely. A truely great album. Essential....
