I've been quite a die-hard fan of MCR since I heard their first album. I like many other MCR fans were a bit dissapointed with this. I agree with many that its to 'mainstream' and not as emotional as their previous work.

Give it a try, it will grow on you eventually, and some of the piano ballard tunes are a bit fresh. If you have never heard them before, you will probably love their album, it drifts away from the past gothic and emo themes and becomes more Alternative Rock.

The songs in the album are:

End - Shortest song in the Album, a sort of introduction to the rest of the album. Supposedly the introduction to the story the rest of the album tells.

Dead - Very guitary, shouty track. (In Guitar Hero)

This is how I disappear - very dark lyrics, very heavy metal-esc.

Sharpest lives - Fast, techno drum beat, almost whispering lyrics at times.

Welcome to the black parade - Piano ballard, but turns into a guitar solo and fast drum beats.

I don't love you - Very sad song, 'slow dance' sort of feel.

House of wolves - The most original song in the album, some of the band's parents do backup vocals. Syntesizer + Piano

Cancer - Sombre, dark song about cancer. Only instrument that plays is the piano.

Mama - Heavy metal, rocking guitar. Has a bit of Liza Minelli in it too.

Sleep - Strong guitar, mentions sleep a bit to much. (:P)

Teenagers - Strange lyrics, very shouty.

Disenchanted - Another sad song with a 'slow dance' feel to it. It's just a "sad song with nothing to say"

Famous last words. -Gets very rocky then really quiet.

I got it for £10, and still listen to atleast 1 of the songs each day. You'll never be able to forget the lyrics, most of the songs such as Teenagers, they stick in your head forever.

My worst song if I had to pick one would be Disenchanted it's to sad and slow for my taste. My favourite would be probably This is how I dissapear or Dead!. Both are really memorable and well sung.
