Blackout - Britney Spears

...has become a bit more cool to admit to liking her. So I have to confess when I heard she was working on new material I was a little bit excited by it, and eager to hear her new stuff. "Blackout" has received a mixed bag of reviews from both critics and fans but to me it doesn't disappoint. I would normally wait for a couple of singles to be released (or check the songs online) before I purchase an album but after hearing and loving first single ... Read review

...earning over £50 million!! Blackout is Britney's fifth studio album following ; Baby One More Time , Oops I Did It Again , Britney , and In The Zone (not including her greatest hits album). Blackout was released in the United Kingdom on October 29th 2007. There are twelve tracks on the album ; produced by various producers including Pharell Williams and T-Pain. To date there have been three songs released as singles ; Gimme More ,Piece Of Me and ...
...much of the same thing. Blackout , suggests that Britney is more than willing to put her past behind her and wants to start afresh with a brand new album. If I'm honest , I wouldn't really say that this album consists of singing as her vocals seem to be more 'breathy' and 'whispery' as well as some spoken-parts on certain tracks. Britney Spears - Blackout Most people have heard of Britney Spears, her recent comeback, which didn't go exactly to plan. Also her public breakdown and loss of her children, however recently she has started to sort her self out and get things back on track. I'm going to review her recent album called Blackout. I will be reviewing each track out of 5. 1. Gimme More (4.11) 5/5 I love this song it has to be one of my most favourite on the album. ...
...song and she seemed like she was drunk, she wasn't really tuned into her performance at all. The start of the song starts with Britney saying 'Its Britney Bitch!' and it really gets your attention. There are synthesisers and you get the impression that someone is clapping the beat which makes you want to get up and dance straight away. I have to admit no matter how much Britney is slowly losing the plot I cannot help but feel sorry for her. From her marriage problems to children problems I just want her to be back to the Britney she was. I, like many never even expected I would get to write this review about Britney's technically 6th album after her Greatest Hits if we include that. ...I slowly began to find the song quite catchy and thought to myself maybe it isn't so bad. However, Britney then performed at the VMA's and I couldn't believe how bad the performance was and I then again had a bit of a negative feeling about the latest album. The album went through so many problems of being leaked earlier and then there was a fake version of 'Blackout' which got out sort of a pre-release with Britney songs but not the official album. ... ...of the bag with the lead single, Gimme More. It became her biggest hit since ...Baby One More Time in 1998 and gave hope for Ms Spears yet. But what about the rest of the album? THE SONGS Early internet leaks of the songs showed generally that britney was moving into a dancier sound, and it does run right through this album. There was much speculation over which tracks would make the album. I have to say that the overall quality of the tracks is far better than the leaked demos (this is particularly true of Hot as Ice) but does she pull it off? 1. Gimme More A great lead single and already a big hit. 'It's Britney bitch' is probably the best first line I've ever heard in a song and the producer Danja does a fantastic job at producing a hypnotic dance track very much in the style of Timbaland. ...NAKED (I GOT A PLAN) (4.35) * Ok, so the tracks with Pacman songs might not have made the final cut, but sex on the dance floor is still heavilly encouraged on this album as Britney plans out getting naked. And people really believe Britney is becoming a bad infulence? Having said that, this is one of the immediately listenable songs on 'Blackout'. And it's well within the themes of the album set by Britney herself. * FREAKSHOW (2.55) * This was one of the last tracks I heard from the album, and I never really got the purpose of it, as at under 3 minutes I find it hard to take it as a serious song. This comes as a half way point to the album and I suppose it has been thrown in as a break, because for me its nothing more than a track I want to skip. Advantages: Some good tunes, suitable for anyone any age
Disadvantages: Also some poor quality tunes, getting worse each time a new ones out

...February 2008. This song is taken from the album 'Set the Mood'. *8. Kelly Rowland - Work This is an R&B style song really good instrumentals and vocals but somehow just not a song I can get into. *9. Soulja Boy Tell'em - Crank That A hip-hop song that comes across as a bit of a Dizzy Rascal wanna be, don't like this song at all *10. Britney Spears - Piece Of Me From Britney's album called Blackout, the lyrics are really good but the tune does not match at all. Britney Spear's older stuff was a lot better quality than this. *11. T2 feat. Jodie Aysha - Heartbroken One of the biggest tracks of the year, quite an older tune that has been out a while, very listenable to tune, another one of my favourites on this album. *12.
