Winter has come, the outside temperature is going down, fuel bills are going up. Well, we all like to keep warm but none of us like those fuel bills.
Maybe, to add insult to injury, the central heating has broken down? Well, living in a 1970s house with an aging heating system, in the bleak North-West of England, these things happened to us.

The 25 minute show is packed with stories and rhymes and at the end of the show it tells us that each of the characters is going to bed, which makes it a perfect way to settle your own little one off to sleep.
Igglepiggle is a large blue character and is the star of the show; he carries a red blanket everywhere.
I try not to get sucked into buying all the merchandise that comes with these shows as not only can it be expensive and not always as well made as their counterparts but the chances are my toddler will probably outgrow the show before he outgrows the toy, or vice versa. Also I think it is nice to have a variety of different themed toys to capture a child?s imagination.

I'm sure everyone is at least vaguely familiar with the popular cbeebies show 'In the Night Garden'. My 3 year old niece is a huge fan and not only likes watching the programme but likes the merchandise linked to the show too. So when I saw this book in The Book People last year for £2.99 I decided to buy it for her. At the same time I bought a copy for my friend's 3 year old son and both little ones love this book. (I must say I quite like it myself!)
My niece really loves this book and we read it over and over again. This particular book is based around the character Igglepiggle, and his lost blanket. This is not my niece's favourite 'In the Night Garden' character but most of the characters appear in this book so she still loves looking at it and sharing the story with someone.
